Ye haw bought my tickets for the Daytona 500 and the nationwide race this morning with sprint fan zone
hoping that we can also sneek away and watch the duels under the lights (might have to pull a captain Morgan trick)

Don't forget your binoculars and make sure to rent a radio to listen to the drivers and MRN.

Penske's appeal date is set for May 1st. If they still do not overturn it then they can have Rick Hendrick's buddy John Middlebrook rule on it. Don't expect a miracle if it gets to this as Penske runs Ford's.

I doubt they will get off anyway after NASCAR said you can't do this to the rear end at the beginning of the season and they did it anyway
they probably might get a brake though less suspension time and maybe less of a points penalty but the won't get off scott free

The parts were NASCAR approved. I think it would be ridiculous if they don't get off. The sport was build by drivers and crews working in the "grey area"

as I understand it, Nascar said the parts were not illegal, but they were not NASCAR approved.

The housings were NASCAR approved before the Penske teams modified them to make the car turn better on its own
so the rear end could twist slightly in the corner at least tht is what they we're talking about on NASCAR radio

Keselowski said they were submitted but apparently not looked at by Nascar? I think that is the premise for there appeal.

in a court of law he would be convicted on that statement. If they were submitted but not looked at yet, then they KNEW the parts were not approved

This just in! Matt Kenseths race winning engine from Kansas may be illegal. The problem is to light connecting rods. Nascar took the engine back to there research facility and word of penalties may come out today. Wonder what God thinks about Joes team cheating?

I just read up a bit on it, they say ONE of his connecting rods was less than 3 grams under the weight limit. One? Wow, thats a huge advantage :)

TRD which supplies there engines must have been trying out parts? Can't believe one light connecting rod could make much of a difference.

Nascar not happy! Here are the penalties.

Jason Ratcliff, crewchief of the 20 car fined $200000 and suspended for 6 points races and the all star race. Probation till Dec 31st.
Joe Gibbs docked 50 owner points and no bonus points from the race will go towards the year end as well as points from the next 6 points races for that car.
Matt Kenseth docked 50 drivers points. The pole award will not count towards the Sprint Unlimited race next year. Also the Kansas race win will not count towards the wild card at year end if he needs it.
Toyota docked 5 manufacturer points as well.

Wow this is the largest fine since Waltrip in Daytona a few years back!
