me either, not sure I would trust a quad in the bush if the battery need a maintainer to start the quad. kinda sounds like someone needs to be spending some money on a thundercat lol. or buy something more reliable

It has nothing to do with starting , it has to do with keeping your battery healthy. I keep one on everything lawn mower, boat , rv, quads, truck. Lead acid batteries will last a lot longer if kept fully charged. Reduces sulfation and a good maintainer will do an equalization charge which will reduce stratification. My rv 6 volt batteries are going on year 8 and still working fine.

yup, if you own a kitty and don' plug it in, it won't start.
my 9r old batteries in trailer are working good so far, and no maintainer,
go figure lol.

Raced a 1000 outlander with some mods (dyno'd at 90hp) I lost by 4 lengths at 100kph.

Arctic cat efi has always has some parasitic draw , if mine doesn't run for a month or two is for sure got a dead battery , I'm on at least my second battery if not third .

yes, small bike batteries won't hold a charge for long, unless physically switched off, or a battery maintainer is used. permanently wired hook up is the best solution. as to which is faster, there is always someone out there.

It's the fuel injection quads that also has a clock in the display

Both take power to keep alive memory... Do different than any newer vehicle also

The one thing that impressed me the most with the ranger was the full size battery.
