I took my new assault out for the first time this weekend and put about 200 km on it and all the reviews were 100% accurate. The trenching was not quite as bad as everyone thought it would be, but was noticeable in the in the real soft pow, this being said it still took me anywhere I wanted to go and even some places I didn't want (trees on a steep climb).
I am an advanced trail and track banger trying to learn to climb in the big hills and dont want to run two sleds anymore so it is a perfect sled for me, but if you are a strict mountain powder hound, DO NOT BUY THIS SLED. The stiff suspension makes it alot of work to throw around but when you need the cush its there. Most uncomfortable sled I have ever riden down the trail but definately made the best time up the hill ever
To sum it all up, as many people said, this is a purpose built sled and thats all there is to it.Those who like it will love it and those who dont just simply bought the wrong sled for their needs. I have been a Doo guy my whole life but after 200km I am sore, bruised and lovin the assault:d:d:d

P.S. 800 Liberty is a power house

Followed an assault up the renshaw trail.... The sled was all over the place. Seemed to bounce the driver around drastically, and seemed to wander a lot..... Suspect the very stiff track lugs causing this. Rider never looked in control of the sled, especially over the washboard bumps.... Just an outside real life observation, up a very long trail............. Sure was nice to pass the assault and be on our way....... Felt sorry for the assault rider!:(

Hey sum , was that guy in a big group, alone???? might not have that sled set up, might have stiffened the suspension, thinking he was the shizzz, if that guy is a first time rider just starting out on the assault "i pity" him might have bought it for the wrong reasons, hope some more responses come in when people ride it and are fair with their views, not that yours wasn't but its so tough to get accurate depictions unless a person rides it for them self, unfortunatly i havent riden mine, to give any feed back, but hope to break it in soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i concur...... He was with another rider on a new blue/white xp..... I felt sorry for the guy, and i hope he knows what he bought, although it didn't look like it. I suspect new machine and maybe new rider, and definately too much sled for him at present..........

Me thinks there are gonna be a few people who bought the wrong sled....plus a few that bought exactly what they should have.

If you ride yhat sled down the trail at a slow speed you are gonna feel everything, that suspension is meant to be worked and at slow speeds it will be like ridin a camel. Grab that throttle and pound through the woops and you will be happy with what you got.The only way to compare it is to a motocross bike on the woops, if wou are turtln over them a trail bike will feel way better but pound through them and the stiff suspension will feel alot better than metal on metal bottoming. I run a Doo 151 also and yes its more cushy on the trail, but when I wanna bang up the trail fast I am in 100% more in control on the assault, but I could see how a rookie rider would get pounded all over the trail, but dont worry he'll figure it out!!!

He'll see another advanced rider, riding the similar machine, and ask him a few a questions. Hopefully the right ones.

It will go a bit faster but they suggest that you don't hold it wide open for long periods of time, or the track might seperate. no one knows till the riders start reporting in on it !!!!!
