Is that 07? Looks exactly like mine. Bought mine in 09. Still riding it. Takes a bit of getting used to, but you will love the torque. Get a lighter higher seat. 4-6 riser on bars. Get rid of headlights. If you can afford, y pipe, pipe, and can.(fuel controller) All in will shed 30 lbs. it will side hill like a freight train. Love mine. Do not think I will ever get another sled. Can dance with the best of them after 10 years of riding it.

Oh yah. Aftermarket right motor mount( up high) will help with the vibration. The 09 I think it came stock. Helps to keep the belts from exploding as well. I use the softer m800 belt in mine. Cheaper and gets you a few more rpm.

And egt to set it up properly. Do a flash on the ecu if not already done. Dealer can help with that.

I like your sled only I think I would be hating the tiny holes in the running boards. I don't know why it took so many years for the OEM's to design good boards.

Ditto. Gotta do something with them. FU boards are what I installed on mine. Loved 'em.

Wish u good luck with that cat i had one new . Didn't work out for me but i think mine was built on a Friday afternoon. Make sure you bring a rope and a good buddy . Haha buy a cat they say it will be fun they say. Im sure yours will make it to the middle of nowhere before you need the rope.

get a metal hole saw and cut a few holes at the front to open up the FB's.

also hole-saw some holes on the side panels and put in some frog skins,, especially on the clutch side. keep things cooler

now dont put that hole-saw away just yet! when you want to pipe it, pop a few holes with frog skinz on the air box to let it breath. this is where the EGT's and programmer are crucial. find the sweet spot and hold on.

dont worry about the idle rumble. will disappear after at about 3000 rpm.

ive always let mime arm up with three cycles of about 2 minutes of idle each. feel the back heat exchange. when you have warm fluid circulating at the back, you are warmed up.

if its cold out, and you stop for 1/2 plus hour. rewarm it. A cold slug of water on the engine after the thermostat opens will cause a cold seize. even after running it that day. not cool.

One thing I had from riding my m1000 all day was sore arms. It pulled so hard when it hooked up. On hard snow it would make my guts feel weird from the GeForce.

Arm pump and Whiskey �� throttle. Great for old guy like me...........on plus side sold the rmk 800 (03) today. Upgrade Cat looking better, better. That glow orange �� is growing on me. Looking forward to winter, riding with buds at Whitecourt, Valemount and Mcbride. However love the +27c weather. Outside all day painting with little sunscreen, Gatorade, followed copious cold �� beverages.

If you have the side idler wheels still and if you are going to be in the powder, take them off. They made a huge difference on my '11 M1000. The track can get some flex.

I ran 3" tracks on my 07 M1000. 07 & 08's needed the track clips on the inside of the rail (or flat clips to clear the diamond drive). I ended up with a VE tunnel and U-cooler, rocking a 3" Powerclaw track on mine at the end... Newer units (A friend has one) used the X3 track as the tunnel cooler strips would just touch the lugs. I suppose one could trim about a 1/4" off the corners to clear. Either way, it can be done.
