My experience with the Tesla Model 3

I would like to know how they handle the really slippery stuff, I'm not going to trust or even relax with AI able to apply brakes at "it's" discresion. Maybe in the "city" so us small town visitors don't rear end anybody.

All that rollover protection anti this that is probably a really good thing for 98% of drivers. Driving is a funny thing, everbody thinks they're good yet there are crashes, steady, non stop ;)
Any dual motor with proper tires will handle ice really well. Snow over a certain depth is going to be a challenge with the low body work.

v11 software update came out just before Christmas and I really don't care for it at all. They added a few features but the user interface took a major step backwards imo. Defrost and seat heaters were on the main screen and now behind another screen off the main screen so they take an extra tap. Which is really annoying because I use these buttons all the time in the winter and hiding them makes no sense at all. Luckily it's software and can be fixed soon I hope. Lightshow is pretty neat and you can program your own...

I'm not concerned with traction, just the car's input into my driving worries me. Especially when conditions are really bad. It can make brake applications right ?

Personally I like the idea of the car doing the braking. Then if you kill someone because the car didn’t brake in time you can sue Tesla instead of their families suing you.

With the drivers I've seen on the road lately autonomous driving can't come soon enough. You don't dare go on a green light without checking both ways first, the amount of times my light has gone green and a vehicle has went sailing across the intersection on a red lately is staggering.

I F'n hate when a cellphone update moves stuff around so I'm quite sure I don't want my expensive vehicle updating and changing features on me. Any way to prevent those on the tesla? or is it all mandatory as part of the terms and conditions when you buy one. It would be nice if you could wait a while after updates come out to find out others experience with them before you decide to do it.

Anyone else see the telsa video in manitoba only like 170km range in -20-25c down from like 450? And they are ready for this climate right? Wonder how much worse the range is at -40?

My bet is way better then the chitty drivers but way worse then the good drivers. So for a lot of the population it's an improvement for sure.

No way I want that chit controlling anything.

You don't have to do the updates right away but I think after a while it might force install itself. This is the first update in 3 years that I thought was bad. Past updates have actually been really good with adding power, security features, etc. The bad parts are going to be easily fixable so it's not really the end of the world. The head designer of the in car user interface left Tesla and went to Rivian recently as well.

I wondered if that was legit or not, I know what my iPhone battery does when it’s -20.

Whats the latest on the cybertruck? Deliveries end of 2022?
I'm guessing 2023. Factory in Texas is mostly done and will start building model y's first. Rivian is way behind too as they switched my friends delivery from q1 2022 to second half of 2023.

Brian Jean posted a video like that as well or maybe it’s the same one. In -30 range shortens up to the point you can’t go from Calgary to Canmore and back from the normal 450km range. I still think there is a place for EV’s but for people that do a lot of driving in the rural areas and in cold weather O and G is still best.

Is this because of 4680 battery delays as well of have vehicles started being delivered with them already?

I saw Jeans post of that as well, as much as I think Ev‘s are neat i just don’t get it for northern climates any more than thinking most of Canada would be habitable without fossil fuels. Then again maybe I’m wrong… tesla market value worth more than all car companies combined and Rvian worth more than the big three and have yet to sell a truck,

Yea that was the one.

But i'm sure the telsa butt buddies have an excuse for that too......

I don't know how anyone can be behind a company that is only around because of government subsidies.
