How long did the entire trip take from the time you left till you got to revelstoke?

It took about 8 hours. The last 100km took forever. Total charge time was 1 hour.
40minutes in Canmore and 25 minutes in golden. Got to Revelstoke with 50% battery left. If I was brave (or stupid)I could have skipped the golden stop.

WOW, that's all i can say. I see now why the oil giant's are shaking in their boots with fear propaganda as they will become dinosaurs in the auto fuel industry.
This week has answered many question's for me, even some posted on here. I'm sold on EV's, they will only get better as a whole new way of transport and as the population move's in that direction.
After having the Tesla for 4 day's getting back to my F350 was shockingly prehistoric way of transport. Looking forward to a F350 EV.......LOL.

Before knocking the EV's, go try one, it will enlighten you.

You've got a long wait yet. I give it about 10 years before there is a good electric one ton truck that will replace a one ton diesel. Even then, I don't see it being on par with diesel. The amount of batteries required to gross 40k lbs is massive, and on top of that to have any range with it. Even telsa semi is far away, and not a proven concept.

There will be a learning curve with these batteries, duty cycles vs battery life. It will be interesting if people take off for a couple of hours when there is a line up at the charge stations.

Saying 2020 for production now, but who knows was suppose to be 2019. Never mind the fact that it can't handle legal weights with only 5 axles, never mind 6+. Might work for short light hauls in california. But not in colder climates hauling real weight. Still a lot of work to do yet.

You mean leave their vehicle at the charge station after it’s charged and people are waiting?

I think like the E Cars, the electric semi will be targeted more at local deliveries of bulky lighter weight items. For heavy long haul there isn't a battery that could provide what the work environment requires. Might be room for some hybrid tech though if that super capacitor battery pan out?

I wonder how long it will be before the car drops you off goes and lines up, charges and texts you it is coming to pick you up?

That is correct, inconsiderate behaviour is becoming a common practice in todays society.

I was waiting for this question to pop up.

It comes down to energy flow rate being the biggest bottleneck. You can fill a car or truck in a few minutes with 500-1000kms of range and be on your way. With the electric car, you will either need 20X the chargers as we have fuel pumps, or wait times will extend into ridiculousness!

It's a great thread - keep 'er going boys. :D
