So I took all my parts to the Cat dealer today to find out if I had any coverage for the damage and I guess they've seen two other M8's in the last couple of weeks with the same damage. One had a season of riding on it as well but the one they just put through had less than a kilometer on it and both pistons and cylinders were done. They think that the machining might not have been up to par but that's all they said otherwise. Oh and they weren't going to warranty the job as I was a week and a half over my one year mark but I guess the extended warranty came with the sled so they'll order new parts for me, sweet deal!! Well I guess it's time to have a look at my other M and see how it turns out.

In my head
Machining??? Tolerances these days are tighter than they have ever been.

Maybe a sticking oil pump.....been a few guys on Hardcore with that issue.

I agree about the tolerances but even in my field we've seen a serious decline in QC. I'll go through the oil pump but it was going through oil on a consistent basis. Either way at least this is a good reason to tear the sled apart so I can have a good look around at the way it all works together.
