Well this thread went a bit a stray lol.........
Ummm remember the old muffpot recipe thread?
It needs to be resurected again
I think the water pump clamps are the culprit. The heating and cooling just naturally loosen the clamp. I found my solution a few years ago and have never looked back.....
I bought a couple of extra clam shell clamps and springs. They are made for the heat of the exhaust and the spring keeps things tight. Work like a charm....happy cooking
PS picture is a teaser; large sea scallops, dab of butter, touch of fresh crushed garlic, dash of lemon pepper, and about 30-40 minutes at WOT
Interesting what do these clam shell clamps and springs look like and where would you pick them up? Crappy Tire, Rona, Home Depot??
They are the spring and clamp "thingy" around the aluminum housing or shell on the exhaust. 4 or 5 on the Doo muffler. BRP makes them and if the link works it is the parts catalogue on DooTalk.
BRP Part Catalogs
Otherwise, the spring part number is 514053643 and the strap is 514053499. I think the strap number is for the larger strap, but in any case you require 2 of each as 1 strap and 1 spring won't cut it. Good luck and happy cooking.
