Looks like MTNTK has brought out a drop in/fixkit combo, adding a claimed 7 hp with no fuel controller.

Are the guys runnimg similar kits also not running controllers on '13s??

I have been thinking of this kit also. This is the one with the billet head and exhaust valve springs and timing keys that provide the horsepower increase. The std kit does is just a piston ring kit and spacers. But if you can do the drop in kit, with the head etc with no fuel controller and get the claimed 3-7 hp increase that would be great. Does anybody have experience with these ? I have a 14 with 1000 trouble free miles,

its a good deal as well at 799u.s. their fix kit is 585u.s so you get a head and timing key and valve springs for the difference.

ive already dont the fix kit, but are the newer liberty engines even in need of a fix kit?

Yes the 11/14 engine is still in need of a piston kit. This is a great kit for the price and no fuel controller, the kit works vary well I have one in my 2012. Let me know if anyone need one over the summer thanks Chris.

The kit will be around 932.00 by the time it gets to us.

It's a chitty deal!!!!

You spend 8 - 12 grand on a used - new sled. AND........... you have to put another grand into it, because Polaris knows it's bad. but doesn't do phuck all about it

I'm going to throw a new top end in my 2010 Iguana, just because.

But this is an ongoing issue since when???

I'd love to buy a NEW Pro, but can't justify it.

your right , but it is a fix for those who prefer sticking with a pro chassis. and you dont have to go for the extra hp. i had a fix it kit delivered for 400$ to my doorstep.

although i think waiting for polaris to fix it themselves is like beating a dead horse. so i ordered a t3 163....black of course

You said it right there!!!!

I do like Doo and have owned more of them then Poo, but I honestly don't know how much longer I'll wait for Poo to get onboard????

Good luck with the T3, they look like a great sled.

Although sort of off topic, I will add that I'm as disgusted with Polaris as the next for NOT addressing obvious issues. HOWEVER, it is far easier to improve the reliability of the RMK, then fix the ****ed up, bandaided XP chassis, that is either trenching, or washing out. And for what it's worth, it's also CHEAPER.

But that's not what this was about.

The only reason I brought this up, is because I already own a '13 pro, and have had 600 fairly trouble free miles. My brother inlaw has one to, same mileage, same results.
I can't decide though if I want to turbo, BB, drop in, or just leave it as is, and buy a 4S to play with.
It seems MTNTK is the only one to offer this style of kit with no need for a fuel controller on the '13 and newer engines. I'm curious as to how, or why that is.

and your right as well !! lol all good points.

i havent even looked at anything else for the pro other than snowX and mountain tek.
maybe ill start looking because to be honest the pro needs something in the mid to top end. without going turbo

I'll be honest, even though this isn't the right thread to post it in. I would go RK Tek, with a programmer. $$$ for a new top end, + control box. Hard to say no..... I don't know much about the MTNTK kit.

But I do know what it is like to have a 2010 800 with 4 injectors and gobs of bottom/mid torque. The top end comes into play with the clutching and gearing.

To go backwards but forward..... Polaris could dominate the mountain market, if they would get their heads out of their ass!!!

Except for the part that says the '13 and newer needs a controller..

ADDED

Looks like the RKtek is twice the advertised power... maybe thats why the controller is needed?

sorry i missed that part, well why would the 13 need a controller?. i know there was a change just cant remember.

With how lean the 13/14 map is how can you get another 7hp without a fuel controller? My RKT di kit needs about 12% more in the mid and 10% on top and I doubt its 15hp... Maybe 10hp at most.

How much of this fix kit stuff is just hype with the 13/14 sleds? Imo the real fix kit is adding fuel and oil to get away from the super lean epa friendly settings they come with.

What kind of piston to cylinder clearance are you seeing with the 13/14s at what kind of miles?

My bud has 2000+ ridiculously hard mountain miles on a 14 that hasn't skipped a beat and is still pulling the same weights and rpm since new. Stock other than extra oil. Going to take it apart and inspect it this summer/fall and put a new top end in it, like any lightweight high performance abused 2s should get. Gonna decide which one to put in after its apart... The way its running I'm betting stock parts unless they measure a horrible clearance.

i cant speak for the 13/14 but in the 12 pro i have the fix kit pistons from snowX and were 84.89 and the stock were 84.67. i opened the oil up one full turn and its been solid since. ive met lots of guys with high miles on their pros.

i think the pistoncontracting is looking for drop in kits without the need of a controller.
