Mounting a Garmin 60Cx

Looking for suggestions/ideas on the best way to mount a Garmin Cx on a 2010 Polaris RMK 800.

I have the 60Csx and I simply used the handlebar mount. I never had any trouble over the last couple of years.

I do attach the tether also just in case of a mount failure.

Go with Ram mounts, very secure and lifetime guarantee, endless different ways to mount.

I got a kit from Whole sale sports, a handle bar mount, took a piece of conduit and bent into a U. hammered one end on a round surface so that the pice would fit the profile of a rack. Added two gear clamps to hold in place and put the mounting kit for the GPS on the other end. Their is no room on a Can-am Max XT to put in on ahandle bar. as an added benefit if I should hit a branch it just folds back. I should mention that I attached to the fron rack of the quad. I will take a picture of it later if you would like.

Picked up a RAM Mount at GPS Central in Calgary. Not many spots on the Polaris RMK's to mount a GPS ( handle bar or dash ).

Thats the same place I mounted my gps on my Fusion using the ram mount system
I used a 3m adhesive pad and also 2 small screws for added strength
Seemed to be the best place on my sled it clears the handlebars at full lock and is protected by the screen

They are RAM mounts you buy the separate components to configure it to your needs

I would personally not mount it. I would keep my head up and pay attention.

Have a local sewing shop build a zipper poccket (not the ones already in the coat, a special GPS holder) in your coat or pack so it still recievs tracking information and bring it when you need it to back track.

Kinda like an avalanche beacon is my thought.

If it is not with you. what good is it!

OOps my sled went way too far down a steep hill....Cliff, and I have to walk out in dark?

Flashlight and your handy dandy trust GPS (for back tracking) that is with you helps.

Just a thought because it works well in the pocket I made for my sled coat.
