Mare, i would recomend riding chappell creek on friday for your first mountain experience if you are intown for a ride on friday. If not, the allan creek area for the saturday ride will be ok and there will be lots of people to show you the way. For your first trip, just play near the cabin and around the little lakes there, get your feet wet and I dont recomend venturing to much farther.
If you are able to ride friday, I would not mind showing you a bit of the chappell area and giving you a bit of mountain advice along the way.
BEACONS ARE A MUST anywhere west of Hinton:d and can be rented at Alpine Country Rentals, P&Vs convenience and I believe the Shell gas station. Not sure on bumper to bumper, but i will check for other sources. It would be good to rent before you come just to gaurentee you get one.
