Kinda torn on this one it would be much shorter to hills but could lose our current almost private highway! Highway 11 is awesome in winter so few vehicles.

A few have suggested that it would be an alternate route for big trucks. This is false, as they are not allowed in the park as it is. So passenger vehicles would be the extent of the traffic.

same BS comes up every yr or two, ever since I've been in red deer, 40yrs, not happening i'm afraid. I wouldn't get my hopes up, way too many opposed to idea, in Alberta and country wide. this needs federal approval, unless you want to start the funding ? cheaper and quicker to get a plane.

Interesting to follow the Route from Blaeberry to Sask. Crossing on google earth and see how much of the route is already riddled with Cutlines, Forestry roads & Logging roads.

It would take 15-20 years to get it in order and complete anyways, most of us would be retired from sledding or in the ground before we could use it

I agree with Maxwell, everything is so screwed up, we can't put pipelines in, we can't run powerlines, we can't paint our houses a certain color because our neighbor doesn't like it, we cant make a gravel pit here, we cant, we cant, we cant.

When we started letting our neighbors tell us what we can and can't do to our own land we started our own demise.
