when I was young and stupid.....I used to break the 400 mark lots......when we had a dead line to meet we were even known to work for 3 days straight and we even got paid for naps on the job.......never missed a dead line! now I work for my self and no need to work those hours! 2 days a week is the same as working for some one else! everything after that is like over time!

Hubby and I worked the pipeline together for 2 years before we had kids...don't think we ever had a month under 400hrs..lots of 24 - 30 hr shifts for shutdowns and tie ins. Just preparing us for our kids, seems like cake now compared to having 2 kids in under a year and now raising a 3 and 4 year old :knockout:

Yeah, thats what gets me too, put in the big hours get some wicked overtime, and then I lose ALL my overtime to taxes...nice incentive.

160 hours in a month, Any more than that, and I don't have the free time I so desire.

As was said, work to live, not live to work.

Plenty of months over 5 years of well testing averaged me at 360 that I was paid for. Then there was atleast 2 hours drive time plus rig in rig out days I got shafted on. Probably works out to 420 or better.

I also did well testing!! One of the best jobs I ever did!

Have any openings??

I did 3 months straight in a Husky camp probably 12-16 hour days and that doesn't include the heli ride in and out to location!!

But on the other hand we did some Athabasca work and we maybe did 4 hours of work a day and the rest we were stuck in camp the WHOLE time.......... And it was a dry camp :(

Would much rather work the long hours then sit in camp and do nothing!!

Sorry dude that was over 15 years ago I did that. Not even sure the company I was working for is even around nowadays. Service rigs are looking tho if that's any consolation. Hours are good there to.

back in the old days when I worked on a service rig......we worked 42 days with out a day off......12-14 hours a day and slept in the crew truck for 3 hours each way.......first day I got off, I went and found a new job because I was making a car payment on a car that I never got to drive in 42 days.......also being a ruffneck sucked lol. the Push always said .....When there is work, we work! he also said ......dont you wish you stayed in school!
