What would you say the most common injuries are.. things that may be preventable, but we get slack. I think we ll do it.. Whip around to the neighbors place on the ATV without a helmet.. How about when wrenching. Things you know better, but get slack..

What would you predict as the most common powersports injury due to being complacent?
I have 2 old scars on my legs. Burn marks from the pipe of an ATV and one Sport bike when I was in shorts.

My legs between the ankles and knees have so many dents they look like a alligators spine. 30 yrs of wipeouts. And also landing on my own foot pegs and running boards on sleds. This must be common. Lol guess shin pads could have been helpful

Blood dries, bones heal, scars are cool, but it takes forever to patch up the ol' pride when you you get busted doing something stupid. The majority of my scrapes, scars, and wounds came from dickin around the kids machines. I can usually make the weekend on my quad or dirtbike without injury, but I think I have at least one momento for every time I climb on a Z50.

For me wrenching is skinned knuckles bruised fingers for riding I've smash my jaw and lost a bunch of teeth. Other then that knocked the wind out of my sail a few times. People who don't ride with proper boots gloves helmet and goggles. Easy to get roosted in the eye easy to break limbs and spinal breaks too

Bike and Sled is usually shins and knees from smashing them off boards/panels/sticks/logs/stumps/rocks/kitchen sink.

Wrenching I always have cuts bruises and split knuckles. I only seem to wear gloves if smashing knuckles on sharp metal seems inevitable.

I talked to an ER nurse a couple of summers ago and she said that over half the ATV injurys that come in are broken arms/wrists from rolled SxS's.

For me: it was always the feet and shins....I've been wearing MX boots for the last 4 or 5 years and no more problems.

For me its just the bumps and bruises to knees and shins. And ego: that gets bruised the most.

In my line of work, if the injury is serious enough to come to ER, I would have to say it's a toss up: broken collarbones, facial/scalp lacerations and head injuries would be top three...

No helmet cause you werent going very far or fast. After rolling mine without a helmet and having one of my riding buddies tell me he didnt want to feed me through a straw the rest of my life i am now an avid helmet wearing rider. Its not worth it, put your skid lids on folks

Knocked out cold once was enough for me to wear a helmet even around camp, and because i seem to be dumber the closer i am to home base.

Three broken ribs and punctured left lung while wrenching. Beat that!!lol

I ride with a chest protector, helmet, gloves, and goggles minimum now. I still crash but it hurts alot less.

The most memorable one I ever had was an injury from my quad- and it wasn't even unloaded from the trailer. I hooked my ring on the parking brake button that sticks up as I was dismounting the bike in a hurry. It sliced all the meat off the back of my finger. My finger swelled right away and I couldn't get the ring off over the flap of meat, so I had to fold the skin back and pull the ring over the raw flesh. I thought I was going to pass out... I have had worse injuries, but that was just gross.

Robobecca broke her collar bone quadding last year.(didn't slow her down one bit btw) Thank goodness she was wearing a helmet and chest protector or we'd have had one less mouth to feed. Going to get steel taken out on July17,or get more installed depending how she does on the rally this year. Either way she's got a spot booked for surgery. Guy that drove her to hospital was also gimped up with a broken collar bone.
