If not a holtz skid then look for a 2003/4 vertical escape suspension. I updated my 01 this year and what a difference. Also consider 16" wide track. They fit fine and make a noticable change in deep snow.
Reeds do make a real improvement.
I agree with hoods, go to a vent kit as well, does wonders at keeping the clutches running cool.

I just finished installing a KMOD rear skid. saved 10lbs for about 800.00 big ones, what I liked is the way it changed the geometry of the rear skid. Can anyone say ATTACK angle:D

Its a rear scissor assembly with a fox shock and coil over sping(thus doing away with the old leaf style springs) rock solid drop brackets and if you have the power to warrant it solid rail mounted transfer blocks. You can find it at kmodsnowmobileparts.com:D

I've cut down my windshield, installed better boards, and a larger riser this summer. Can't post pics from here, sorry.

Oh a lot of guys remove the sway bar. I did.

I'm in the process of installing a spacer to move the steering post about 1/2" forward at the top, improving angles a bit. Hope to finish that this week.

I think I'm going to go to 19 / 42 gears as I mostly ride in the mtn's now and I'm not concerned with top end much.

I think I might also make a mount to attach the tach to the bars / riser, and put in another flowrite in the dash, this will make it easier for me to swap on the mesh hood I plan on making as well.
