Ok, so I know having a fully insulated, heated 26' inclosed with all the bells and whistles is nice. Not to mention the 60,000$ diesel pulling it, but lets see those who do it with less.

1/4 ton trucks, uncovered sled trailers, cars pulling trailers, etc.

Lets face it, big expensive toys don't always make it more enjoyable, and definitely not needed. (I'm cheap as hell, and poor, lol)

Curious what we come up. Set-ups must be what you actually use, not mocked up, or used once. I always appreciate seeing guys doing it with less because this sport has been blown out of proportion.

I'll have something posted once I give it a go, but I have a one place trailer behind a 98-4runner riding a 06 REV X

IMHO it doesnt always matter how it looks, BUT its more about how you ride it is what counts!!

Though im guilty of trying to look better than I ride :/

Heres My set up.... I purchased (still paying for) the Diesel 3 1/2 years ago.... and just finished putting 6G into the motor.... But the deck i picked up for 800 bucks and with a little TLC was able to use it for its first season last winter... It has a couple cracks in the aluminum (not structural) and the Alloy is severely oxidized... BUT it hauls my sled and does everything else I want it to.....

I think you guys are missing his point. Trucks older than ten years, trailers made of plywood and duct tape etc. Maybe a sled in the back of a van or a car towing a trailer.

in the 80's I just threw my sled in the back of my old '75 chevy 3/4 ton. bought a new half ton in '90 and didn't want to scratch up the box with the carbides so I built a wooden single sled "box" that had a slide out ramp. couldn't bring along a buddy so I bought an old steel single place trailer. used that setup until Y2K and bought a Z71 half ton and a steel sled deck (I know...I know). bought a new 3/4 ton in '06 and threw the deck in that, also scooped a new Triton 2 place tilt deck so I could haul 4 to the big hills until I got a Triton enclosed trailer in '09. I ain't goin back...

There's some Kiwi's that spend a good chunk of the winter in Blue River, wish I had a pic but its an late 70/early 80's van....you know the kind kids run away from....stripped out so they can park the Dragon in it, pulling a flat deck, that has no business being on the highway with 2 more sleds

My hauler is a 1994 2500 6.5 diesel.... my enclosed is my cap.... $4000



I want to put a hitch on this thing...230hp, AWD, and goes ANYWHERE, I can plow my driveway with it.... $3000



Luckily in good snow years I don't have to go far because I have room for about 15 truck/trailer combos to park in the yard and ride from home....

I wish i still had pictures, I used to have a regular cab short box 6 cylinder 2 wheel drive, that i used to put a deck on and two sleds and drive from pine lake to ram river to go sledding, little sketchy, top heavy and down to 3 on most hills, on the over loads pretty much the whole time but made do and had fun.

Seems like things were done different in to those days. Thing is people had a head on their shoulders and really pioneered our sports, etc.

In 04 I had a hand me down 94 plane jane reg cab dodge ram 2500 2wd but after not coming home one night from sledding because the sun had made one of the hills on the road so icy I couldnt get up it and not having any cell service to call the wife and tell her I was fine. She made me get a 4x4 so I got an 98 plan jane reg cab 1500 4x4 and have had 4x4's since than.

Now were much better off, well maybe not but the bank likes me more now lol so everything is nice and new.
