hearing alot of complaints about brp engine products on this forum over the past few years.

heres the pistons out of my sled with almost 7000km on it. not one scar on either piston. still had 125psi.

little carbon buildup but no big deal. neither piston ring had any pitting in it whatsoever.

i beleive the difference here is how i treat my sled. granted it is not babied. i bag on this thing 8200rpm all day

but

- i have only ever run quality brp semisynthetic oil
- always let the sled warm up until the cooler is warm to the touch
- broke it in the way i was going to ride it.
- change plugs often to prevent carbon debris falling onto piston.

thats it!

better call guinness i guess. One of a kind. Rarely see them last past 2000k without crankshaft.

hmmmmmmmm, you must be talking about polaris' ......... We have several and the'yre all up there in mileage too......... 4 - 7000km and they're not gonna be touched again this year. Bbtoys had 8500kms on his 800 before anything was done to it.............. Jus' sayin'

In the West!
Congradulations, there are also a couple freak dragons still runnin strong on original iron too. Doesnt make them good motors though.

Same thing I was thinking. The Ford 6.0 Powestroke had a few freaks that never lost an injector too. Would you call that great reliability?

B.T.W.---if that is an e-tech, you better get it in, there is a recall out to replace pistons due to premature failure(broken locator pins).
Why would they do a recall? Skidoo's don't burn down! HaHaHa:rolling:

I can't take you seriously highmark03. Yes I repacked pto bearing just cuz at about 5000. Still lots of iso in it tho. Crank still checks out perfect so I'm going to runit till she don't spin anymore!I didn't create this thread to start a brand war. Jjust sharing the findings in my group. Like summitric said we have aall 800r motors in our group and not one failure besides a preproduction 08 which took in some snow.I'm just not seing the premature failures that some are. Mind you my test sample is only about 25 sleds. Still should give a good indication imo
