I rolled my truck off the lot to get a lift and tires put on, then i did the dpf 2000km later, along with a bullydog PMT, dealer didnt like it so much and didnt want to honor warranty work, so Ive been paying out of pocket. sucks. first damage i did was towing out my skid steer in reverse on a steep slope, snapped the front drive shaft and it cracked the trasnfer case, 4000 bucks later i was on the road again, then my tranny failed. i said the hell with it and upgraded it, i had the funds, so why not right.

I know exactly what your saying...over the last 6 years ive bought 3 trucks from the same dealership...And thats what worries me, ill do all the deletes and something will go wrong and there goes my warranty...i gotta test the waters with them and see what they think about it. But really, who dosent do something to there truck that voids warranty. With it being an exhaust or a cold air intake, someone always does something

I ordered a SRT 10 piller mount for my mini maxx to mount to. I havent looked yet "truck at dealership for tranny" do you have to pull the dash pad off or just remove the piller/handel cover off to fish the cables for the tuner?

FYI. I ordered the srt 10 pod as I did not like the color match on the after market, you can get a 1,2 or 3 pod for info sake. It will take a little modding "epoxy" to get the mini maxx adaptor to work but nothing drastic!

Pop the covers by the grab handle and undo the bolts, 10mm socket IIRC. Be careful with the cover because new ones don't come with the SRT pillar and they are pretty chincy, and yes just fish the cables down behind that A-pillar post.

Thats what I hoped, just trying to plan a little as I'm doing this at my brothers shop so I have to bring my own tools somewhat. I'm suspecting I'll turn or move my OBDII port as I think it is right down low so I think it will get bashed getting in and out but not sure!

I have a Minimaxx and SRT gauge pod too. The Minimaxx adapter doesn't fit very tight in the gauge pod hole. I thought about glueing it in too. In the end, I just put a couple of wraps of electrical tape around the adapter and it fits in the gauge pod nice and snug and I can remove it if I need too.

I installed a Mini Maxx in my 07 6.7 about 8 months ago. I used the SRT 10pillar mount and H&S adapter. Installed the adapter with four drops of Super Glue. I drive about 300 km of fairly rough gravel road every day for work and the Mini Maxx and adapter are as solid as when I installed them.

Well I messed up again, when I ordered my pipe and stuff. Buddy said you need a tip, I said supprize me... A 4x7 polished stainless tip is a little to big for my truck. Anyone one want it $140 so I don't have to mount of on the lawn mower!

I hear ya, 7 inch is a bit much...easy to damage and kinda ricey...5 or 6 inch would look a bit more matched to your truck IMO. How are you making out with your install?
Good luck with your new toys!

I should get my truck back from the dealership today...then hopefully get started soon. The tip is way to big for me, but I'm building my garage this summer so I think this tip is going on the furnace exhaust on the outside wall. That should get the neighbors fired up!

Good call not going with the big tip.

I am not much for having tips that taper from very small to very big (7 inch wow ).

I like my 6 inch tip but it is backed by a 5 inch exhaust.

I ordered a 4x5 black chrome, I think it will look a little more in proportion.
I laughed pretty hard when I opened the box and saw this thing. It will be a topic starter in the garage. My $140 fawk up.:d

At least you are not afraid to admit a screw up...and it was not really your fault. Also it is nice to read that you can laugh about it! That will be a cool looking furnace exhaust though! :wtg:

4x5 in black chrome will look sweet!

You may want to take it easy on your new transmission for awhile to let it break in. Also, you may want to consider saving up for some aftermarket transmission parts (cooler, controllers, ect). Have you heard about ATS's latest product for the 68RFW called the Copilot? They are also developing a stand alone shift controller that will allow the user to change shift points and a few other things. I am sure that other companys are also working on some cool tranmission solutions too. The more choice we have the better!

I have plans to keep modifying my 6.7 but have put most of my plans on hold until there are some more bullet proof transmission combinations that have a proven track record.

Good luck with your build up!

well at work today so I thought I would get my pyro probe installed. drilling and tapping with lots of grease went well. The fitting on the other hand was a b!tch. The NPT to compression fitting once installed would not let me put the probe in, so I had to have the probe and fitting together then thread it all in together. The fitting seamed to compress the probe once the NPT got tighter! PITA but I got her. Start nights tomorrow so might start with the rest of the wiring!
