Well Doug you just can't read.
Or use Google.
Thanks for coming out.

So if you don't get your information from "reading or using google and doing a little research" where do you get your information from may I ask?

Are you saying that rummour and gossip are better?

This thread started with someone saying The Vancouver Sun had an article which in reality does not exist. I am not sure why my pointing that fact out bothers you.....

Look back a couple pages if you can figure that out and there are links to National Post and the Vancouver Sun articles on the subject.

Its funny that you didn't even bother to read the whole thread before going all keyboard hero on us.

Oh boy you guys did it now, Megatron is awakened and now "Sector 7" is on your ass.
The vancovernuts are coming out of the wood works. Should send all the refugees there, sounds like Doug would be more than happy to fund it all.

I actually did read this thread from start to finish. I see some links that are based on rummour but I fail to see any link to a Vancouver Sun article that states the facts about meal allowances as were presented. I do make mistakes so maybe I am wrong.

Could you please provide me with the link to the specific Vancouver Sun article that says these things about Syrians getting these meal allowances?

If you can I will apologize for my mistake. However I am fairly confident you will not be able to give me any such link.

It states the government will reimburse up to $15 per person for breakfast, $16 for lunch and $30 for dinner.

Thanks for the link. I stand corrected on the fact that those numbers were in the paper.

But please acknowledge the fact that this thread is also being very dishonest about this information. The article also states: "The length of stays will vary: some will leave the next morning, others will need “two or more nights.”" So to try and spin this to make it sound like these meal allowances will be given to the families for months or years is a misrepresentation at best and staight up lying at worst.

Thanks for the link, what I read into the article is that Canada is not prepared to receive a large number of refugees who will be put up in hotels for 1 to an unknown number of nights to the tune of an estimated 61-77 million in Hotel bills alone, plus the per diam meals!

What a half baked effort by our "selfie" star Trudeau and his lefty loonies.

Thanks for the apology......

Well lets take Vancouver for example.
I doubt any of these families will be able to afford a single family home there anytime soon. So I am guessing you will be supporting them for a long time.

We could have fixed their country with peace keeping/ military intervention.
There is no way we could resettle enough here to make a difference.

But we are gonna waste alot of money trying.

Let's be real here. We are taking a small number of families whose lives have been ripped apart worse than anything any of us can imagine as a gesture of campassion. I am sure a lot of these refugees will return home when (if) things ever settle down in Syria. We are not trying to save every Syrian refugee, that has never been the point of this. However if we do our part, and other countries do their part, then we could collectively make a difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of innocent children's lives who are currently living in hell. Isn't that worth trying at least?

I am not an expert but I would be willing to bet that the amount of money we are saving by not using our military jets to drop bombs there will more than cover the costs of resettling these refugees, but I acknowledge freely that I could be wrong about that. Not to mention the billions of dollars our country has spent on other military actions in the Middle East.
