Meadow Lake Sask.

A buddy of mine are heading to the Meadow Lake area in Sask next week for a few days of fishing. We've only been there once, and I am wondering if anyone has any good recommendations for lakes in this area.

- We will most likely be in a canoe (possibly renting a boat for a day)...
- Pike seem to be everywhere, so they aren't an issue, but I'd love to catch (and eat?) some walleye, and / or lake trout.

Open to suggestions, tips, directions, and possibly info like do they have boat rentals?

Sorry I don't see that one in Meadow Lake..... and I am not sure what the white tail comment means at all.

Lac Des Iles Murray Doell campground is where our family spends a week each summer for holidays. Fishing is good and Flotten Lake, Waterhen Lake, Greig Lake and Kimball Lake are close. I've attached a link for the Provincial Park

Awesome thank you..... you would approve of the fishing in those lakes? Excellent info sir. If you had to pick one for fishing in a canoe... what would you choose?

If you're in a canoe I would stick with the smaller lakes Vivian,Kimball, Matheson or Mistohay. Rowing is all I'm concerned about and the weather rolls in pretty fast sometimes. I have a 21ft boat so I usually run the bigger lakes. I've limited out on each of these lakes and the scenery is awesome. I prefer Lac des Iles because it's a short drive to Cold Lake. Pickerel point on Lac des Iles never disappoints either it's on the south west side of the lake

we've camped here for many years. great fishing for jack , pickerel and lakers. it can get pretty choppy so a sufficient sized boat is recommended. found decent luck for size on the far south west side of the lake. if your looking for pickerel check out the east side north of the main beach... some good rock beds.

Been to Dore, it was good fishing. Then went to Smooth Stone lake. Fishing was better. No people, but hard on the RV.

We have been to dore for last 10 years and been thinking about smooth stone. Not sure how far or how to get there though. Do you turn at the junction to laronge and if so how far.

Sounds like a good place to go for your trip. I would drive a little farther to have awesome fishing.

Keeley(one hour north) didn't disappoint. They have rental boats at the dock. Off sales and ice too. Cheers

I've spent a LOT of time up there. If you're gonna go for pike, I'd stick to 2nd and 3rd Mustus. There's a couple of really good spots on Kimball for walleye in the later evenings. Vivian is stocked with rainbows, and I've never caught a fish on that lake. We spend almost all of our time on 3rd and Kimball.

Being from Calgary, I've had my fill of Rainbow's. It's the entire reason I'm driving there, to catch something else lol. Awesome tips.
