Mcdavid could win the Calder without being the top scorer among rookies quite easily if his point per game average is high enough which it probably has been so far with including last nights 5 point game

Or will eastern bias phuck us over again and see it go to Eichel or Panarin?
This is what will happen, the east (especially toranna media & writers) absolutely HATE the oil, especially after last year's draft lottery. He is undeniably the rookie of the year, he is a magician and his stick is his wand. Every time he has the puck I wait for some magic and am not usually disappointed, un frickin believable talent. And he elevated ebbs game, love that kid too rediculous talent and our best clutch player. Playoffs? BAHAHAHAHA!! Now THATS funny! They would have to all but win out. I really didn't want the first pick again out of pride but after seeing how bad the make-b-leafs want him, I want him too just out of spite. Should hear the venom the D-bags on leafs lunch spew about the oil, that alone makes me want Mathews

Shayne Gostisbehere is also making a case for the calder now too with a record setting 13 game point streak by a rookie defenseman. He now has 32 points in 38 games, but is also a few years older than McDavid at 22 but younger than Panarin. He also is of course playing in the east for the Flyers where he will get more attention as well.

He is also a defenceman. I know the Oilers have long forgotten what those are, but nearly a point per game on the blue line as a rookie D man is unreal.

Totally agree that it is very impressive especially as a d man but not sure its totally sustainable for him. Plus that is a big reason why Ekblad won it last year is because he was a d man but he was also a 19 year old up against a couple of 21 year olds.
