Just picked up a couple machines for my wife and I. Looking forward to a little riding this winter and lots next summer. Still waiting on my snow check sled to arrive so might be using the mavericks more than expected!!! My wife wanted the older maverick so I gonna be on the new sport. Just waiting for a bunch of the accessories to arrive to install on the sport xmr Anyone ride in the Calgary area? I’ve rode the local areas just always looking for new groups to ride with!

Congrats on new machines. They are fun. One word of warning for the older Maverick with the half windshield is when ya get into mud or water that wondshield does a great job of pushing water right up into your face. Prepare to get wet. Other than that enjoy :)

Anyone ride in the Calgary area? I’ve rode the local areas just always looking for new groups to ride with!
Nearly every weekend, anywhere between Sundre and McLean creek. I have a MavS XXC and most of the group I ride with are on RS1s, rzrs, or KRXs with just a few other Can-Ams. Aim for 100km per ride if no major problems.

If you don’t want to hate your new XMR, throw away the front sway bar immediately, try without the rear one too. I ride with none, smooth ride, awesome articulation, still do 100 on the gravel roads no problem.

Haha! Good thing my wife is driving the older one! I was able to go for a half day ride on the older maverick, I didn’t find the windshield to be any different than the one I had on my 2016 highlifter.

Thanks for the advice, I will have to try without for sure. I bought a new highlifter back in 2016 and rode it for a couple years, I just hated the rough ride. Played with the shocks and could never get it to my liking. The 2015 xmr rides a lot better than the highlifter did. Haven’t had a chance to drive the new sport yet!
