Well the flood forecast is all over the place. I was out volunteer sandbagging last night. We have already done one water rescue and expecting more in the near future.

Over 10,000000 unseeded acres in Sask and southern Alberta last year. I can't see that changing alot for this year. I feel sorry for all those farmers that may not see any income for the second straight year. :(:(

lots of roads closed down in weyburn. they closed the highway going through town because of the risk of water crossing. can't get to a buddies farm. only with hipwaders on and that is still risky because the current is so strong. damn near knocked me over tonight. and its only gonna get worse. they are calling for 10 cm of snow and 5 cm of rain in the next three days. gonna be awesome.........not.

Just to clarify most of that was in Saskatchewan. We farm near Brooks and out of over 5,000 acres we own only had a quarter(160 acres) unplanted. My family near canora only got a quarter out of about 3,000 planted. if the land is drained properly there won't be problems. So far last year was much worse for us. First time EVER we spent more money pumping water off the land then onto it.

I had a half section unplanted last spring and some of that may not get seeded again this spring. We need some heat and a dry wind for a couple weeks, not more snow and rain like today. :(
