Sorry I smell BS, why would Putin's plane fly though the same airspace the Malaysian airliner was shot down in 45 minutes later? The author seems like the stereo-typical conspiracy theorist American journalist.

This is where it helps to read the article, it clearly states that that report of Putin's plane intersecting the MH 17 flight came from Interfax- a mainstream Ukrainian news organization. He also presents this unconfirmed information as one of two scenarios for what little is known, it certainly doesn't appear that he is endorsing this scenario, however applying logic if it were relevant.

Paul Craig Roberts is the former Assistant Secretary to US Treasury. If you watch some of his interviews, he hardly comes across as a conspiracy theorist, but rather a credible, rational, objective, highly knowledgeable and intelligent perspective that provides a supportive voice for diplomacy and common sense.



Since this terrible tragedy, we have witnessed the mainstream media and our political elite shamelessly blaming Russia and Putin without providing a shred of credible evidence, just assertions and opinions as if it were holy truth. If they are so sure it was the "Russians" why not wait for an independent investigation to present their legal findings? Is that not how the legal system works? This goes so far beyond irresponsible, its completely reckless and exactly how major global conflicts start, we need to be smarter than that so we can continue to enjoy snowmobiling!!!

Yes it is true the blame is being placed on Putin, maybe unfairly so, maybe not, regardless it is fact that the separatists are making it very difficult to for international officials to examine the crash site, and they have done nothing to prevent the tampering of evidence, if they had nothing to hide would they really do this? Their allegiance is to Russia after all.

Regardless I'm sure we have only heard a small percentage of the facts, but like the other Malaysian airliner we are never likely to know the exact details.

I don't think there are any facts yet that can be verified, especially what you just mentioned. The OSCE is at the crash site, why aren't they complaining about access, they've made no mention of that. Their official news release states that "no process of debris collection has been observed"- in other words no tampering of evidence. Evidence tampering and lack of access appears to be more propaganda from the Kiev stooge government to obscure and discredit any findings that don't fit the script.

I'm sorry but the narrative we are given really appears to be false, the context in which the propaganda is rolled out is highly reminiscent of the other false claims that were made to justify military interventions.

Assad used chemical weapons on his own civilians- also BS
Gadaffi gave viagra to his soldiers so they could better rape women.....WTF!?! - my personal favorite load of BS- at least they showed some imagination
The former Ukrainian Government used violence and massacred Euromaidan protesters- Total BS, was the complete opposite

Unfortunately, the mainstream media has either gotten it dead wrong on everyone of these cases or is complicit in disseminating propaganda for geopolitical "gains".

Oh well, if we are stupid enough to start a war with Russia, at least it won't last long....maybe 30 minutes or so. Russia seems to be getting ready for it, scary thought. Maybe some those highly paid advisors should tell our leaders to fawking cool it!

Truth of the matter is we will never really know the truth. Some where between the conspiracy theories, propaganda and the finger pointing, the truth may exist, but will we recognize it when it presents itself. The media is not in the business to report the truth, it is in the business to gain ratings. The American government keeps information from their own people in the "interest of national security" as do the Russian and Ukrainian governments. This is where the truth becomes distorted. Hi ranking officials keep the truth from the public to serve their own agendas and use the media to distort the truth to the point that even they can't differentiate facts from fiction.

Its very interesting that the very first thing to suggest was that it was shot down. Listen to the speeches, it is much the same as the previous pep talks given to the western natiins before entering into combat.
As was said, who gains??
It just seems as though the end of the story was written before the beginning.
