3000 + barrels of sour crude spilled into the jackson creek which runs into the red deer river. plains midstream pipeline, near sundre ab. claim the majority will end up in the red deer, damage will be major as the red deer is in full flood.

looks like they may be having some problems with old pipe. seems like they are still doing clean up NE of peace river, 4.5 million litre spill there in aprill 2011, i wonder what the drinking water will taste like?

. looks like someone has failed to inspect there old pipelines

I would think they are setting up booms on glennifer, that's the only place its going to slow down a bit. Better fill up a few jugs for morning coffee.

always wonder if yearly inspections are enough. some are flown weekly, but when you have major flooding etc. erosion happens quickly. and a pipeline pressure drop is extremely hard to detect, unless you have a rupture.

they need more inspections, under these circumstances. are they doing enough to protect you, a few on here say so.

Not sure Ric, I would think just before or start of glennifer. I see they have the spillways closed, that lake will fill up quick.

Thats not good at all. This will definitely be more fuel for the opponents to the enbridge pipeline they want to put in to kitimat. Because accidents can happen, and it'd be extremely horrible to see something like that happen in one of the worlds largest temperate rainforests.
