I was researching the boating, drowning deaths in north america 2 nights ago... I wanted to start a thread bout it on here so u guys and gals can have faacts to shut up the haters u will have in ur face one day.
Quick facts. I think it was 2014 or 2012 in th US 610 people died on or in water. One third of those were drowning, one third of were due to boating. This same stat is true to canada. Canada has about 170 drowning deaths per year.
In the same group of 610 deaths in us 118 drowned from kayaks, canoes !!! So far in the us its 5 or 6 snowmobilers died in avalanches, 1less than skiers.
I think we should ban canoes and kayaks.... put that to the haters.
In the summer of 2012 in canada 34 people drowned in 2 months!
Unfortunately coming from him it won't be positive as he will yell and stomp his feet, no mainstream media will pick it up and the only people that will see it are the ones that already know the problem. Needs to be CBC, Global, CTV, Macleans, National Post, etc.Sent a twitter message to Ezra Levant, some may hate him but I believe his brutal honesty is a breath of fresh air in the Liberal controlled media, asking about a report on the "nanny state" and Liberal agenda coming after the snowmobiling culture after a tragedy. Never know, maybe we could get a little positive press on our side.
If i didn't take a year off to recoupe my knees, i'd take ezra levant on a sled trip to mcbride and let him experience the "experience" of sledding in the mountains, if even just for a day trip ... Then, see what kind of report he comes up with... I bet it would be sensational ........... Anyone game?
nailed it.
Anyone can go and cherry pick a bunch of stats to make almost any activity look like a daily dance with death. This macleans article is nothing but another cheap attention getter via a lazily written swipe.
