Has anyone beef'd up their steering post? I seen a couple times now, after a riser, snapping the post just below the weld and wondering how to pre-correct this from happening.

Get a Wildchild post. Get it made shorter and with a T top and put a longer riser on so when you hit it the riser folds over instead of the post bending.

pound a piece of rebar down it cheap but works, got to be careful though the next weak link is the bars the the tunnel where it bolts in

Might as well buy a chest protector while you're at it :)

This.

one time solution. I've beefed up bars with rebar, I'd welded them, I've made them taller & shorter... then I bought ONE wildchild T top, and I can't think of any reason I'd need to buy another post aside from the heim joint wearing out.

you can stick with a mostly stock setup (I screwed up the math... these risers were way too tall!)

or go with adjustable riser, and save some weight from the bars too...

IMO, the ONLY way to go for the M... what cat should have done in the first place... solid posts on sleds that gets ridden for real are retarded.

RSI makes an adapter to turn your stock post into a t-top. It adds 3/4" of rise and you can run those pivot risers. Costs about 20 bucks. Powermadd makes one too that's 2" rise and costs 50 bucks I think. I am going to try the RSI adapter and rox adjustable risers like backcountryislife showed. I was going to do the wildchild post too but this adapter should keep costs down and if I snap a post then I will know to tell everyone not to get the adapter lol.

What year is your sled? You may want to throw a steering post support in there too from Wildchild. Theyre known for cracking through where the post mounts to the bulkhead. The guy I ride with all the time had the same problem. Luckily he got a new bulkhead and tunnel under warranty

I Tried that first... it'll snap.

Too much rise above the sled, and not enough going to the bars.

I've got one of those I'll send you for $5 though.

I've bent a couple posts now too and considered going to the t-post. You probably won't bend your post but make sure you carry an allen wrench around though because you will be tightening the bolts constantly just like the doo boys. The knurl on the steel post gets packed with aluminum the first time you go over the bars and the riser slips.

Chad at CR racing has a really nice post for the cats. i have 3 buddies that all broke several different kinds of set ups and went to CR and havent an issue in 2 seasons. they are basically the same as the wild child ones with the t top.
