So I'm sitting here bored waiting for parts for 2 dead sleds and I thought I'd throw this out there.

M7 starts up fine. Warm it up and try to ride it and it starts misfiring at high rpm, then falls flat on it's face with no spark and won't start. Try it the next day and it starts up fine then we go through the same thing. Tried an ECM from another running M7 and no change. Chased through the wiring and couldn't find anything obvious. Disconnected the tail light 'cuz I know about that little issue.

Pretty sure it's the stator. So sure I have one ordered. What do you guys think?

Odds are pretty good it's stator yes the only thing I woulda checked before ordering one would have been to unplug hand Warmers over the years I've had three 700s that acted exactly like statues the first one before I knew better got replaced and no change unplugged them sled ran good luck

Crap! Never thought of that! I bet they were turned on too. I'll check that if the new (used) stator doesn't change things. Thanks.

As mentioned, stator. Broken wire in stator might be the cause. when it warms up the wire expands and separates breaking the current flow. after it cools the wire contracts and it runs again. Had this happen on a dirt bike, ran good for 10 mins then would shut off no spark.

Well.....it's not the stator. New stator same issue. Gonna dig into it Monday, but here's another symptom to think about. When I first start it up at idle the check engine light flashes like crazy. Not flashing a code, just flashing rapidly. Rev it up slightly and it goes away and stays away when it goes back down to idle. When it intermittently stumbles at high rpm the light flashes once or twice till the stumble goes away. Didn't run it till it quit, but I know after 4 or 5 full throttle braaps it would have died again. Looks like I'm gonna be busy.

Crap! It was the Boondocker box. Of course it's about the easiest thing to eliminate and I skipped it the first time around. Bypassed it and she runs like a top. Stock head and key are going back in it this week. It runs great stock anyway and less things to worry about!

Anybody need a stator and flywheel?
