I need some help! I have a 08 M1000 with the 09 update. It ran fine before the update, now it runs quite rich on the bottom and midrange. i was told that i could now add a Y pipe and also open up my airbox to allow more air. I did this and it did improve the bottom and mid range. I have not had a chance to get it to the mountains to see what it will do wide open. My question is now that i have leaned it out on the bottom and mid range, will it be to lean on the top end? I don't have a fuel box or exhaust temp gauges. Also can anyone explain to me how a fuel box works? Do you have to change the maps everyb time you change elevation? (eg Going from flat land to the mountains).

I have the box on my sled and it is well worth the money if you take your time and learn what your sled is doing. You can do a plug check on the sled but it is a real pain on the M with that pipe having to be removed to do so. I have a digitron that I ran last year and it really helped me set my machine up. I think if most arctic cat owners realized how lean these machines run on the trail up, they would ride them a whole lot differently. You do not have to change theses boxes really once they are set up but for the best performance up top you will find it lean on a flat land ride, the best part is how easy they are to change. I have had the luxury to ride on a trail at -25 and my temps were closing in on 1300 degrees so I stopped and hit a few buttons to add some fuel and I was good to go. Also I have had to tow a few sleds out on the trail and at the speed that is comfortable to tow at my temps also crept up really fast, it is great to have the flexability at the touch of your fingertips.

Afx air fuel gauge from dons speed parts. The best way to tune an efi with a boon docker box. i used to run a digitron when i rode m series and burned down on a long pull with out even showing heat on the digitron. Man with the air fuel the mid and bottom cruising speeds are so easy to clean up. And full throttle will show u exact air fuel mixtures. If you are on a long climb and it goes over 12.5 turn around sock some fuel to it and try again. Digitron does work a little better on twin pipes than a single pipe. But for ease of use air fuel i feel is the way to go.
