I know this is a little off topic.. But is a dry nitrous kit worth the 500$ that I have a chance to buy? My old m7 (orange one) had nitrous but I never used it. How much tuning is involved with it? It comes with a pre drilled intake. A guy I know is parting the sled out. Has a van amburg tunnel too for anyone looking for one! But yeah, with the nitrous, full pipes, high comp rktec head, would there be much difficult tuning involved? I'm not too familiar with nitrous... Just wanted to see what I would be getting myself into.

It's an o7m1000. Any advice on the nitrous thing?

I dont run nitrous on mine. I dont like the fact that the bottle runs empty. I think it all depends on what you are wanting it for. I think in the mtn riding situation it's not to bad i guess cause you can use it to regain momentum and speed if your are startin to slow down in a climb. The boondocker set-up is easy to tune and reliable.

Here's a stupid question.
What does altitude have to do with clutching?
Less HP @ higher levels so the clutch is geared up to compensate?
As well, i've seen threads with M1000 having M8 gearing. What is this?
PS, my 07 M1000 revs about 7600-7800 in mountain meadows(aftermarket can) with about two feet of powder.
PPS. My sled does'nt engage till about 4000, a pain in the ass when slow starts are needed. Anything that can be done on that end?

At elevation you make less power so you have to compensate for that. I wouldn't do the M8 gearing as i think it is a waste of time and money unless you are going to run a 3"tall lug track. If you have a stock exhaust then you should rev max7400 and with an aftermart Exhaust run 7800.. If you change to a different primary spring it softens up engagement and lowers it to about 2800rpm.
