Second ride out riding a twisted turbo on a 2007 M1000 - New to me this year. 1500 miles on the motor and 500km +/- on the motor boosted at 5 to 6 lbs. Running Amsoil Interceptor Synthethic at 40:1. Gauge reading 12.8 at 2000metres 6600ft

Rings melted to piston on clutch side jug. Jug is toast. Other piston and jug side looks good

Chevron 94 octane was the fuel used on the 2 trips this year.
Radium Hot Spings, BC

My question to the turbo Gods. Am I riding the wrong fuel on a pump gas Twisted, wrong ratio or what? Any information is useful information

1st ride was fine and the 2nd ride meltdown!!!:rant::mad::realmad:

I think that's what the 12.8 in his post is referring to. If so, he was rich and not lean, so might not be a fueling issue. not sure, you could call Shain and see what he says, probably best to get it straight from the horses mouth....

Not sure what the issue is, air leak?

Yes I missed that part. Air leak would do it for sure it would cause a lean failure could be crank seal maybe?

Don't know alot about turbo sleds, but 9 outta 10 times I've seen a Clutch side piston failure it has been that the person blew a belt and tore the seal. Just a thought, let us know when you figure it out

I never blew a belt. Are you thinking maybe it was blown before?

As a rule i dont like seein two stroke turbo's get over 13.0 on the air fuel gauge. I find that 12.5 is the golden spot for them. Possibly an injector failure or an electrical issue goin to the pto injector.

If I am not mistaken when you lose a crank seal you usually blow the motor fairly quick, so it my not be that, unless there is still some belt cord wraped around the shaft

Air fuel should not be over 12 depending where it is positioned. Do you have your boondocker trimmed up?
