Edson Club has the staging area set up. All random riding find a line follow it for as long as you want. Wander around no set trails. Recommend a GPS to find your way home. Lots of riding area.

Dont know the snow levels out there maybe someone that works at the mine can help.

We were there for xmas and just got back from there last weekend....Lot's of snow, but be careful some of the rivers are running and ice on them is rotten. But there is still a lot more snow then what we got, past your knee's in most places

Make sure you take a gps or someway to mark your trails....easy to get lost, daytime not bad...after dark might have to spend night in bush....LOL:d

Really beautiful country......:)

Just curious if there is ( or ever was) a trail that goes from Edson all the way to Lovett staging area??
I am looking into starting a club here in Hinton and linking up to the trail by Robb. We rode from the staging area years ago and never really found a trail. Just cutlines etc but that was alot of fun. It's nice to have all these different riding areas within an hrs drive of town.

It's been so many years since I rode there. Like 15. Last time I did we went west and it wasn't far and we ran into a mine haul Road. We crossed of course. Lol! Good riding area I think the mine has got it all chewed up by now.

Going to be great might have to stay further north to avid the mine rather than the lovitt area

Ya took a drive out to the Staging area tonight... Yes things have changed, but still tons of riding. It would be nice to see a google earth image ( up to date) to see how far the mine has advanced.
awesome little cabin there. In very nice clean shape. Guess it was built in late 80's. Does anyone know how long of a drive it was by sled on the groomed trail from edson to the staging area there?
I talked to a guy tonight that said the mine has to eventually put the trail back but he figures the Edson club isn't pressuring them to do that yet...maybe time to put the pressure on... Lol

I would recommend to call the ASA office and ask for the contact info to the Edson Club. You can also find info on how to start a cub for |Hinton. Great Idea
Call 780-427-2695 ask for Chris

yes i emailed the edson club earlier on today via the ASA website. Haven't heard back yet. I have also been chatting with Whitecourts president about the possibility of starting a club and trail system. He has been a great help and told me as well to contact Chris at ASA.I think it can be done. I was thinking we could get the club started and at least have a poker rally with all money raised going towards getting the trails happening. In 15 years we've only had 2 poker rallys here in Hinton and there were alot of sledders at each one.
