I am a fan of aftermarket exhausts and such but there is tolerable load then just stupid load. last summer we were quading up in ruby falls and on the way back to camp came across this renegade that had the loadest exhaust i have ever heard, like to the point it didn't sound good any more. We passed to group he was with and dam we could hear the dam thing from 2 valleys away. people like that guy need a slap. Your quad dose not need to be super load its a 4x4 not a race machine. Personally i still have the stock exhaust on mine cause i use it for hunting and just cruising the roads by my house, no need for the loudness.

I know I can't do what ever I want, like build nuclear arms or shoot the neighbours pets and what not. I ride within my limits and keep it fair to everyone. I don't try to be obnoxiously loud and heard wherever I go. I live just within city limits and never had an encounter with the RCMP about my MX track or with noise on my property.

Only time I've had a problem with anyone was at a buddies cabin (everyone there owns a quad) and this one dingus had to ruin it for everyone because he thought 2nd gear was much too fast (roughly 20km/h) and he yelled at us to slow down. He even phoned the police to have a talk with us and the other 500 people who where riding their quads at a reasonable pace.

I had some guy do that once, he was on his horse on the road when I came around the corner. I slowed down to 1st gear idle to pass beside him in the ditch which i guess wasn't enough, he chased me in to the ditch further screaming that i might scare his horse. I said funny you must not be verry good at training your horse cause ours will ride along with the quads. Saw the cops circle around about 20 mins later but they couldn't find me. Some people don't care how nice you ride they just have nothing better to do than bitch out the atv's. Well i think i will start phoning on every horse rider blocking the road when i am in my truck.

Not all horse riders are bad, same as quaders. Lets not lower ourselves to their level. My mom rides horses and we have a few friends with horses. Just like the majority of us on S&M, we aren't bad people. Though raining on a Jack-A's paraide is always fun! :)

Just a dumb ass question here regarding these after market exhaust systems, but don't you have to remove the spark arrestor portion of the system to make it louder? If that is the case then aren't you also the cause or potential cause of forest fire thus depriving riders of areas to go. Despite the racket that they make I would be somewhat concerned about the safety of my fellow riders. But then if you don't give a rats ass about what anybody else thinks then this is a moot point?

Not every exhaust comes with a spark arrester/quiet core.

The screen is NOT what quiets the pipe

The quiet insert (baffle) is what lowers Db's.

You can run both, or either or none. Some pipes are legal before inserts.

More packing lowers Db's, same as baffles.

Muffler inserts KILL your midrange power, as much as 5HP is lost. Manufactures don't advratize this, they tell you there is 0.5HP loss top end (not so noticable) but they forget to mention the big most ridable loss in HP.

When looking for a pipe, look for a dyno chart before you make your purchase. Don't look for top end gains, look for ridable gains where you mostly ride in YOUR RPM range.

A spark arrestor is required by law to ride in Alberta in OHV areas.

Nice rumble, no pop or snap or crackle. I hate it when my quad (car, truck etc... lawnmower) sounds like ricer chrispies.
