Loss of power

I have a 2000 polaris xc 600 when it reaches around 80 it wants to die out and when i let off the throttle it returns to normal but as soon as i open it up again it wants to die out. Just picked it up and getting very frustrated any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks.

carb issue? Maybe some crud affecting fuel delivery at the top end? Fuel filter? clean carbs and change fuel filter. Worn clutch parts?

Try this> From a dead stop, pinch the throttle to the bar, watch the tack and and note the rpm at WOT. 8-8200.
If the sled dies again before you reach 80 you are likely having jetting issues. If it holds rpm till you get to the same speed and acts up again, you may be having clutch issues

I think I finally got it took carbs off and cleaned them good. I also re synced the carbs and so far so good thanks for the info really appreciated.
