Lose 1 cyl @ idle WHY?

My 03 Legend 700 has been a great sled since it was new. This year on our first ride the intake boot fell off #2 carb no big deal we put it back on and ran some carb cleaner through it. Now when it is at idle approx. 1000-1500 rpm #1 cyl cuts out completly. It seems to be firing fine and we tried a new plug just to be sure. Could it be a RAVE valve sticking?

How was the intake boot when you put it back on. They have been known to crack allowing too much air in. Also how did the reeds look, as a broken or stuck reed can create issues as well.

I need to tear into it this week, but I want a manual before I do. Hate to bring the sled to dealer but I also don't want to do more damage than harm.

What did the colour of the old plug look like and make sure to do a compression test on the motor as well.

Do a compression test. It may not make enough compression at idle to fire but will run at higher rpm.

got the exact same problem on a 02 800. low compression. been told if I do the top end the bottom end will go. going to drive her till she blows lol
