Alright i am looking into getting a new big bore 4x4 atv. I live in the maritimes and we have similar terrain as you do, a lot of water around, some skeg etc. I want something 700cc+ but I am unsure of what to get, price is important and locally before tax I have found the prices are:

2009 Yamaha Grizzly 700 PS - $9995.00
2009 Brute Force 750 - $8995.00
2010 Can-am Outlander 800 base model - $11099.00
2010 Polaris Sportsman 850 not ps- 10799.00
2009 AC 1000 - 10995.00

I do like Power steering, but I do not think I can afford it unless I get the grizzly. What I want to know is what would you buy? and what in your experiance is the most reliable, we run our bikes hard here and I need something that is not going to be broke every weekend.

Any help would be great thanks,

Well, I have an outy and I love it, but they are exspensive. In my personal experience riding with my friends and family, every make and model has some problem some time. Whether it's your quad or not is another story. I think the best bang for your buck would be the Brute, but if you want power steering I'd go with the grizz.

All biasisms aside "im a yamaha rider"

the 850XP sportsman seems to be the best quality bike but id get the PS one.

those bikes are just plain nice tbh ride / power / handling they got it all.

if you cant get that bike in PS.

My 2nd choice would be a different than your list bike. id get he mudpro from Arctic cat those are nice tricked out ATV's with everything you need for riding hard.

if my bike got stolen tomorrow id prob get a mudpro myself. cuz i dont want to do anything to my next bike "that always changes". but id have alot less to do that way.

A new machine, 8-10 g, plus all the bs.. buy one thats been scratched already, save the heartache, and 2-3 thousand bucks... IMO

think about what you are going to do with it... some machines have no racks, some have thirsty motors... (fuel comsumption never been an issue yet to me) but depending on what u do..

power steering or no pwer? depends I spend most of the time in 2 wheel drive( I got a grizz)

Going used is a great idea, 1 or 2 yrs old with low hrs and a bunch of extras done already. If going new the Can-Am and the Polaris come stock with fairly decent tires all the others have crappy tires.
Most realiable & best on fuel with very good power Grizzly.
Great unit and V-twin power (weak tie rods) Brute Force.
Most stock add ons and best power (but most $$$$) Can-Am.
I've owned most of them from new, they all have great points and some small issues.
Can't say which one to go with unless i know excactly how and what you will use it for, and the type of power you expect.

I would say Polaris for sure going to give u the best bang for the buck little more right now but less dollars later on repaire. Other than that I would go with the Grizz Very reliable bike.I would not go with can-am.

YA!! You should buy my 2008 Can-Am. Its clutched, chipped, piped, Pro Taper Bars, Rox riser, 27's... yahda, yahda... Just a few scratches, hardly ever jumped, never rolled Much. Oil gets changed every 20 hours or when she gets swamped, which ever comes first. Comes with 3 spare front bumpers that can be straightened and re-used along with 2 front racks and one rear. Never raced professionally (just with my beer drinking buddies)... open to offers

Pick a Set of tires you like " or leave the zillas on if you like those"

and leave the rest STOCK and that is one off the line ATV that is more capable of anything else on the market imho.

has the Ground clearance - the Power - factory Snorkels - Clutch kited for larger tires.

that bike looks Good to Go its what id buy if i was in the market. or the 700 version what ever floats your boat.
