Yep pretty sad isn't it. Lol

Close the door and watch the door skin shake on the 150. The truck I drove only had 60000k on it. Listening to the doors rattle was driving me nuts. Had to turn up the stereo up louder. So yes my 1 ton is quieter than that eco boost I drove.

Hmm, not sure what happened to the truck you were driving, but I have 117000 on mine, and no rattles, or road noise. I can have a conversation without raising my voice at highway speed. I agree though, the door skin flexes when you close the door.

I will buy one my next time round for sure. I was not sure about this engine as well. I bought a 2010 with the 5.4l. That was in 2012 when i did not know anyone with the eco-boost with any km's on them yet. I'm happy with it no problems. But I now know lot's of people with the eco-boost and never heard any complaints or major issues. No blown turbo's, transmission issues. Best example is, my buddy who uses his on the farm with over 200,000 on his 2011, pulled his 30ft bumper pull to Tofino and back this summer. He did it cheaper then when he took his dad's 05 f-350 diesel. 2 guys from work I know chipped there's lol I can't pass on negative info about this engine. i guess the fuel economy is not a good as advertised.

I would say go for the eco-boost. I hope this 3rd party info helps lol

cheers

We had our Ford dealership drop off a '15 XLT to our shop today. They've changed a LOT of things on these. The back window with the slider looks very expensive to replace, nowhere near as big as the old sliders. The front grill is huge, definitely want to put some inserts in. The shape of the cab and the box rails have changed as well, looks like I'm going to have sell my canopy when I finally get my truck replaced in a couple of months . This has the 2.7L in it, you can feel the difference between the 3.5 and the 2.7, but it's still a very peppy little engine, still has lots of giddy up and go. I stopped in the parking lot to talk to one of the guys, and the the motor quit, I thought great, I broke the damn thing! I took my foot off the brake, and then it started again on its own. Put my foot back on the brake and a few seconds later, it shut off again. Apparently it's a fuel saver thingy, get to a light or something, and it will shut down automatically. I'm hoping a person can disable the friggin little gem of an option. The side mirrors are narrower, I wasn't too keen on those. The driving lights are square now and the headlights are really different as well. I'll try and remember to take some pics on Monday and post them up before the dealership comes to take it back to their lot on Monday.

I just bought my 14 ecoboost 2 weeks ago. It looks like I am gonna get around 950 km out of the first tank of gas. It was about 60/40 for hwy to city driving. Lots of power and way smoother and quieter than my 05 ram 2500 hemi. I am lookin forward to hookin my sled trailer to it when the snow comes to see how it pulls. I know it has only been 2 weeks but I am very happy so far.

Thanks for all the replies. I've had the Ecoboost for 2 weeks now and I must say over all it's great. Good power, nicer ride than my Harley F-350, and the features inside were well worth upgrading to.

First thing I've noticed is it's worse on fuel than my F-350. With deletes, I was getting 12-14L/100km unloaded and the Ecoboost is getting 15.5-16L/100km. I think with an sct tuner and intake I could get it to the same. Either way, not a big deal.

My only other thing is from stop to a light acceleration, there is a vibration coming from the rear end. May have to bring it into the dealer to get looked at before it's an issue.

Again, thanks for the replies. Made the choice between sticking to a V8 to Ecoboost much easier.

It's kind of a shudder at 10km range very briefly.

If your leaving intersections that hard it is also contributing to your poor fuel mileage. :).

Haha I'm driving just like my F350. I do accelerated harder but my driving habit is the same.

Okotoks to Edmonton for the sled show I averaged 11.8 l/100km with 4
people and luggage doing mostly 120 and sometimes more. One thing I noticed is that the engine is so quiet I could hear other vehicles much more. I'd start to hear a hum or rumble and realize it was another vehicle I was passing. My only issue so far is my truck sometimes lurches forward when driving 5 - 10 km/hr. I've only noticed it in underground parking.

Drop the speed down even more in parkades. You are probably driving at the RPM where the turbo is just spooling up giving you jumps in power.

If you already driving really slow, lock the Transmission in 2nd gear so that it's forced to drive at a lower RPM (I'm guessing the newer models still have that ability).

I'll try that. I'm driving around 10 km/hr when it happens.
