I was thinking of going out to swan hills but I have two questions, one is where is a staging area out there, and the other is is there any snow out there. New to the whole sledding thing here.

Thanks

would be easier for you just to search the 5 or 10 thread on swan hill but i'll answer out of sheer boredom. there are a few staging area's there is one right in town. when coming up hwy 33 its on the left after you pass the esso. i usually stage strait out of town, coming in on 33 again go strait through town to the stop sign, strait through the stop sign onto the gravel road, and take your second left into the pump jack. from there follow the tracks. and yes i hear there is all kinds fo snow up there. check out the swan hill thread for more info

You have people going with you? Easy place to lose your way.... Make sure you keep good track of where you've turned and your previous trail

It's a long weekend, I got time to get lost, ya I got one buddy going with me, but I ain't gonna bet on it, maybe it's time to invest in a GPS, or some ribbon tape, thanks for the heads up though, I wanna go to the mountains for a laugh, and when I say a laugh I mean laugh the last snowmobile I was on was either a tundra, bad ass, or an old cheetah 440, that was 12 years ago I think

If you want to go to the mountains I would suggest taking your child to York Creek by Blairmore, it has a decent trail system and then you can jump off and play in the snow. Was there a couple of years ago and figured it would be a good place to take someone who didn't want to go into the mountains but wanted to experience the hills.
