Seriously.....what did you have to pay for enough insurance to run a hillcross competition?

You can access it either via Char Creek Staging or Boundary/ Maryland fsr staging on the Salmo Creston Pass. OMGOSH if you are going to come.. I will personally escort you Mr Catinthehat!!!! That would be wicked!!!!! The Char staging area is the quickest to get back there. Totally just a fun kind of event.. and every contestant has to fully chew and swallow the wiener before they head up the hill! ( they actually have to open their mouths and show me they have swallowed it) I had a golden and bronze wiener trophy the year before I left to work in nelson.. but those wieners went missing! Time to make some new ones!
Please let me know if you are coming! That would be awesome!

Lol.. Hill cross.. perhaps is an over statement. We were so fortunate to have brushing done by Fortis Bc on Powerline Hill. It is a family friendly area that many enjoy. We have an insurance guy on our board. This is a modest, fun family event .. the most difficult part is downing the hot dog in a timely fashion.. showing me they have fully chewed and swallowed it.. then zooming up the hill lol. A Meteor Mine it is not.. but a fun family time it is.. turns out there is some heated wagers happening already! One member .. who shall not be named.. is wearing a Titan Helmet.. with the drop chin.. so he doesn't have to undo and do up his helmet again before going up. Pssssst.. If you have a Titan.. wear it! All others will have to do their helmet back up.. after showing me their empty mouth.

So it's a modest hill climb after sticking a wiener in your mouth..... Maxwell should be a shoe in for that

Unfortunately if I can't get there on crutches I won't be going there this year. Recovering from knee surgery.

Search and Rescue will be on hand helping us with the day. They'll be providing Transceiver search practice... for prizes! Thank you for the awesome PM's I've received! Amazing ideas!

Try doing a snowmobile rodeo. Barrel racing on the meadow for kids and on the slope for adults. "Roping" and pulling out a dead sled or any turbo Yammy you got. Obstacle course on a sled with only one ski on or something similar like a 12 Proclimb. Lighting a fire with one match, one stick and a pocket knife, no googling allowed. Wienie or pyrogy eating contest, frozen with gloves and your full face on, like lost souls waiting for S and R.
Snowmobile skills in a fun environment.

If your lucky enough to have some new G4's in the group you could see who is fastest at cleaning out the debris and belt changes. If it's a weekend event, maybe throw in a bulkhead change competition too.
Thing is to look outside the box at things that happen on the hill everyday and make it visual fun.

Soooooooo, my open face helmet would be an advantage. Too bad my mother taught me not to eat my food fast. :D

OK I'm sending out a message right now to my directors! This is a wicked idea!!!!! The poker runs for me always had me on edge.. dealing with safety issues.. lakes not frozen.. people you know will show up and want to participate without avalanche equipment, Avalanche Conditions.. this event I can host on the flats in the Creston valley safely!!!! Holy man thank you so much!

Treasurehunt with beacons. Start of with basic map and visual clues. Once approximate spot has been found, beacons need to be used to locate a hidden container where a form of "ID" is left behind as proof. Person/team with most deposited IDs wins a prize.
