Looking for info on camping in staging areas

I'd find a more remote place to camp personally. Lots of great riding areas that aren't maintained by a club that you might not normally ride because they are far from town.

You'll run into less cry babies that way.

Problem with that, is there's not any random places to park and camp, cause there is 6 feet of snow on the ground, and they don't plow what's not needed to be

Lmfao depends what time of year I guess. But lots of places to camp around revy.. I'd go up to mica this time of year though.

You didn't read my post tex. I told the guy to go away from towns. Doesn't have to be revy either. Bc has lots of mountains. If you are camping out anyways why stay 10 mins from town?

Boulder mnt resort will rent you a lot if you want to camp in revy.

I do know revy has signs for sure in the main areas but if you are not in them but on remote logging roads not blocking snow plows on crown land pick up your garbage who’s going to enforce it?

I'm with you Canuck! I stink bad enough after a hard day crushing snowflakes, never mind being wet and cold stuffed into an RV with buddies who are in the same boat. Then trying to dry out gear overnight. What a PIA! Maybe during the spring it would be worth it, but not during winter. Just hope those that do choose to winter camp do it responsibly otherwise its an eyesore when the snow melts...

I with you as well however we do camp all winter but we pay to be spoiled we stay at boulder mnt resort. Our seasonal spot we are next to shower house and also full hot tub power is included we use that for heat 90% also have wifi. Another thing is we have a big enough spot to leave our small enclosed with sleds all secure

Lots of people get lost and spend the night all the time, so why make it harder for the people helping Someone, And I’m sure this would go for lots of clubs, people are allowed in the summer time and off months to camp thou.

Not sure on this one????? How does a person camping effect SAR?
In your post you state, "WE". Are you an executive of the Revelstoke Snowmobile Society? Now I could be assuming things a little here, but your location shows Revelstoke.
People do lots of night rides all the time in Revy, myself included.
Our trucks are parked there well into the night into early morning.

There is lots of folks who ride from smokey bear and Peaks lodge who have no vehicles in the lot.
Along with folks riding over from Glacier house (no vehicles in main Boulder lot).
Some people park at Frisby parking lot and ride the cut across over to Boulder and Turtle.
Some people park in Boulder main and ride Turtle and Frisby....

Does that mean if there is no vehicles in Boulder parking lot that the mountain (Boulder) is clear of all riders? That would be a totally unrealistic assumption and statement in my opinion. My opinion only of course.

Can you help explain how this will effect SAR?
Would someone camping in their trailer, be there sleeping, eating or relaxing? Easy to find these folks, NO?!.....LOL.

In many, many years of riding Revelstoke. There has been very minimal folks camped out that I have seen in the lots.

I know it sound unrealistic to some folks, but guess what? There are folks that actually venture in the back country and even camp overnight in winter.

Like most of you folks. Warm bed, shower, stretch out on the couch is more my thing...

Would think if vehicle parked overnight or any long length snow covered would raise suspicions that you are the one lost. SAR might be called to look for you when no search is required. Maybe a sign in a window saying owner is camping there would alleviate the callers.

If camping was allowed in the main lots I could only imagine all the f'tards eating, ****ting and tossing garbage around. It would make spring clean up a biotch. Not to mention all the superstars slammin beers getting boozy tough. How about the clubs potential liability if they allowed overnight camping when someone all juiced up goes for a 3 am rip and hurts themselves. Most would be respectful but I bet it would take less than a month for complaints to come rolling in. Far too many knuckleheads.

Lots of places to camp for free if you wish outside of the main lots. Revy has more than two riding areas. lol

We don't toss our garbage outdoors, or crap outdoors, and a pickup truck with a sled trailer takes up every bit as much room as we do in the parking lot, some take up even more with those long trailers. But feel free to keep being delusional that everyone ones a 55 foot toy hauler, which would have a bathroom in it by the way, but still continues to crap all over the parking lot, and toss trash out the door. I have numerous times picked up trash left by others while camping, but never left any behind.

guess u haven’t seen the clientele that gets to revelstoke...many have big trailers, big trucks and big ignorant attitudes.
