Just about went to the heavy 1/2 Ford with 8 foot box when I went to Duramax.
Really good pay load and cheap to purchase.
Only available in xlt and extra cab but good ride and cheap to operate.
Have a couple friends that run them.

Thanks PFI for all the info. The exacts reason why I'm getting rid of diesel & going gasser. Bought a diesel to haul TT, & never ended up going anywhere with it. Have a lake lot about 40min from home & trailer gets hauled out in spring & then pulled out in fall. Diesel sits & doesn't get used. So when I do finally drive it in the winter I have mech issues after its sat all summer or only used on a couple wknds.
i went with the bigger F350 SD again only because I like the size & ride of the truck. My daughter has a 14' F150 rides nice but I just like the full size truck more.

I go pick the new ride up nxt wk. can't wait. Will be my first New ride ever. Always looked after wife having brand new, but now she's gone & I get to have something myself :)

I'm not reading this whole thread so I'm not sure what info was shared, but will comment on the engine, I liked the 6.2l gas in my 350 service truck, good power and was fairly decent on gas. My plan was to buy it from the company and stick a deck on it for sled hauling I liked it that much, but things didn't go as planned.

I have a 2011 f-250 6.2, 3.73, 35" tires and levelling kit, got 2.5" blocks from a f350 to make the truck sit nice. on the highway it gets anywhere from 16-21L/100km depending on my driving. With 2 sleds on deck it gets between 22-32L/100km depending on speed/snow on road/4x4 etc.. i find the wind resistance of the 2 sleds sticking out on the deck affect the milage more than if i haul a travel trailer. 120000kms no issues, just oil changes, i bought extended warranty and eveything havent used it once. oh well. truck got better mileage before level kit and 35" tires.

I seen quite a few 6.2l f-350s this week in the hills. I never got to ask their owners for their opinions but seems like they are getting more popular

I just brought home a new 2015 F250 CC w/6.2L in XLT trim. Has every option I was looking for except 4.30 gears, like others have said only way to get is to order a new truck. The rebates and incentives on remaining 2015's were too good to pass up. Considering the price of used '11's to '15's and the kms on them, a new truck was only slightly more than buying a used low mileage.

That's funny. I bought a 16 because they told me there were no rebates or incentives on the 15s.
Made no sense but I got the price I could afford on a fully loaded 16 so I'm still happy with what I got.

Yeh I don't know why dealers don't bring in a few 4:30 ratio trucks?
I had to order mine at the time also.
Sales men always try and talk you out of it .
Only took 4 weeks though.

Ill just have to learn how to shift it manually to get more pwr & mileage out of her. Got the first 400Kms on her getting her home. Deffinatly a different pwr from my old 6.0L diesel.
Not sure the mielage Im getting yet. But 91L to 421Kms was what I read off the dash this morning.

To early to place value on truck mileage hen new, that said I put in 48L when I arrived home after driving 287 km.

I find eliminating 6th gear when loaded helps a lot, 5th gear helps prevent the inevitable shift swings from 6 down to 4 and then back to 6 non stop.

I have a 2012 6.2 with 35's. With the sleds and gear I will get 550km per tank.

Picked up a 2015 f350 crew long with 6.2l. previously had a 08 dodge 3500 diesel. mileage is about the same on highway at 15l/100. little less pulling power than the diesel. but warms up quickly, decent on fuel, fun to drive and i dont worry about injectors and all the rest of the diesel stuff. also has a huge payload difference than my dodge , almost 1500lbs more. hey Vance, would love to see your truck with the 35's. thinking about doing the same. photo.JPG

went to golden and back last weekend and got 625 klms on a tank 2 sleds and all our gear ford f250 super cab with a 5.4 engine,but the tank holds 142 litres

Bigger rubber equals more fuel and reduced power.
