i bought a 2007 m1000 153...it is just the rolling chassis all i need for it is a motor. however i do not want the m1000 motor(cause they are junk) i am looking to drop a 750 or 800 into it and i was wondering if anyone has one out of a destroyed sled or where to find one for a good price

I like the M1000 myself. You will have to get a ecu for that sled to,the 1000 will not work for a 800.
If you are interested I have some brand new crate motors,pm me if you are interested.

I used to have an m1000 with full pipes and few other bolt ons, I loved that sled. I'm almost thinking of buying another as a backup! They've got a lot of grunt for a stock motor. I think you should consider it.

Dave, you wouldn't happen to have a bulkhead as well would you??

i have just heard horror stories about the update of 08
The M1000 was, and still is a good sled. I would say one of the problems they had was varying fuel pressure from sled to sled, so when one guy put a y-pipe and can and had sucess, they next poor bugger burned it down. That motor doesn't like to rev, either. I'd recommend you stick with the 1000 motor and if you mod it, buy a fuel controller, check your fuel pressure, and don't over rev it - you will have a sled that is reliable with power to spare. As I wait for my new snowcheck, I'm still wondering if I screwed up by selling mine, cause it worked great - best sled I've ever owned (and I've owned quite a few different sleds).

08 problems were pretty much isolated to the ecu and flash that was in it. Do you have any of the 1000 engine components?? If you go with an 800 you will need ecu and matched injectors for that to work. I have an ecu but its not cheap either. Hope you have throttle bodies because they are pricey as well. Let me know if i can help, my shop is in leduc. 780 986 6370
