I dont buy for warranty.....just a question as it appears ski doo dont have confidence. 4000k is nothing in my mind I have one with almost 10000k didn't change a spark plug until one fouled at 5200k. Not saying they are not good machines but 4year was the big selling point until now.
Well if you want to turn this into a pudding match of kilometres then ray mason who I use to do some guiding for when he owned totally awesome had three xm 2013 one with 15,000 plus and two with close to 19,000 on them stock, the other one had one side let go at 14,990 and was warrantied and a coil the following weekend then was good for 3 more thousand till he got rid of them all, I have more faith in this turbo than any other one of those sleds I have owned for how it rides, the fun that it provides, and that is just gas and go.

Exactly, the rest of the turbo still has the same parts as the expert. Still does not make sense to me yet.

I just had the oil pump replaced on my sled cause it was leaking, well the price of that oil pump definitely paid for the extra warranty I bought when I got my sled.
Warranty is a big selling feature for new and used sleds.
Not all parts are the same....and warranty is not just for engine, your post proves that already.

I bought a in season sled and the extra two years of warranty was cheap and a no brainer. The updated rave valve seals seem to be holding on, and not leaking. Other than these two leaks, my sleds been amazing.

You are correct tho, Aside from some obvious differences between the two expert package sled.
Dropping the warranty in half compared to a NA sled does make for a interesting conversation.

Wasn't trying to turn anything into a pissing match about kilometers. Just that it is only half the warranty with out boosting power above the stock number seems weird to me.

Wasn't starting a pissing match about km. Question is why cut warranty in half when it is not boosted above stock HP. Why? The answer is not that you think it is the best sled You have had.....what is it?

they're the only brand with a factory turbo
guys woulda bought it with 6 months warranty
when the competition comes out with a turbo,
doo will offer more warranty then
Why would you give everything when nobody else has what u have

Sales will suffer.
Im guessing that quite a few that have snow checked will back out with this thriving economy
If you get a FREE sled then the limited warranty and paying bills is of no concern lol

I personally think the motor will last longer than the NA sled. You won’t be wide open all the time reving the bag off it. The fix to make a a 800 dragon to last was a turbo. The extra fuel and oil made it last.

Werent the 700s bettee to turbo?

Currently have 1967km on the Gateway Sales and Service demo and no issues thus far, not even a belt. Only complaint I would have is there needs to be some sort of snow flap option for spring type trails, I have had to stop and pile snow on the tunnel a few times to keep it from getting too hot, but I'm sure this is an issue with the n/a expert as well. I see there is linq shaped holes in the little plastic snow stubby on it so something must be coming.

You can get a linq snowflap already. It works phenomenal. Was released with the expert. Instead of piling snow on it, pull off the trail set the machine on its side and spin the track, ease it down slowly so it keeps biting into the snow then when the up ski touches the snow your off to the races

Without the flap chainsawing in just shoots snow out the back. Putting it in reverse and chainsawing in does help. I need a flap now we are into melt freeze trails.

In them hills.
Yh that to me is it in a nutshell. If they would have offered 4yrs on sno check they would have doubled their spring sales IMO.
I agree.

Sat out on the turbo this year just because of the warranty.

Always easy to sell a used sled with 3yr.
Not sure how these guys are gonna do trying to sell a 1yr old sled and no warranty for $17-18k....

Wasn't alot of people before in the used market with that kind of cash and there is definitely gonna be less after all the Covid layoffs.

Sounds like the engines are not being overworked but maybe getting overheated. Lol

A sled is something I All ways buy new cause if looked after they last. With used you just never know how they were maybe mistreated if you don't know the sled

You were never buying a skidoo even if it came with a 10YR warranty
