We usually carry a Mini torch with us in the winter...tried everything else with not a lot of success. If you're a crack head...chances are there's already one in your glovebox!

When Im in travel mode I put latch pins in and when parked for any length of time then the locks from warm truck cab go on. It is a small pain changing back and forth but never had a froze a lock yet.

X2 Hard for those thieves to steal anything at 90 - 100kph.

I wouldn't use fluid film. It stiffens up too much in cold weather and your lock won't work. In fact it will probably be worse than doing nothing. I would try electrical contact cleaner.

I disagree. I have 4 padlocks and 2 door locks on my trailer that I blast with fluid film once per year and have never had a frozen or stuck lock. It repels water and doesn't get stiff at all.

Bought a set of good lock for our trailer with protective caps, and I asked the locksmith that I bought them from what one can do or use to keep them from freezing up? He said the best thing to do was to remove them when in travel and put them on when you're parked. He suggested not to use any lubricant because they collect dust and even lock deicer isn't great for them either because the cause corrosion and the best thing to use was a dry graphite or lead from a pencil worked over the key and worked into the lock. We now remove the locks during travel since they cost 25$ a lock.

problem with heating the lock is it causes condensation and just keeps getting worse over time. Use to carry a small torch in the truck just in case and eventually had to replace all the locks.
