Ugh we just finished doing this, 2-1/2 years + while renoing our house. Me the wife our 2 kids(youngest was 6 months when we started) and a 85lbs dog. like mentioned summers are good winters are ****. Had 3 100lb propane tanks you still run out at 3 am on the coldest nights. Now that its over its all just a slight memory a funny conversation starter "remember the time when..... haha"

Did a service call to this one few years ago

I did that one year way up north accept I boxed it in with pink foamboarding and wrapped it with poly, it's the best way to do er, all I needed was a tiny electric heater, very comfortable and dry,you look like a total waste of skin but you're actually raking in the thousands hahahaha, and I just left it there when the job was done, there's probably a piece of her in every cousins house up there.

would insulating and wraping with poly not cause a condensation problem inside. I wouls think a wood stove would solve this.

You're right it's not the correct way to do it, but it wasn't air tight, I was using the poly to keep the water out, you would definitely want to remove it come spring time
