LinQ removable snowflap

Looking at getting one of these for my ‘19 Summit 165”. What can you tell me about them as far as durability? Heard the top piece quite often cracks. Any help is appreciated!

We have sold a chit load of these at the dealership. Everyone seems to like them but we did have one customer who believes he lost his on the trail in the trail position? Not sure what happened?

The only problem experienced was some days it was hard to get the flap into the holes for the ride down due to ice like FastFarmer mentioned. There was one day, I couldn't undo the LinQ handles due to ice build up. That was one of those -20 days! Other than that, a great product. Still helps to know Kuster's trick for cooling in some instances!!

Can you elaborate on Kusters trick? Is that the tipping the sled on its side and running the track?

yeah pull the sled on to it's side, right up on the running board you want the track out of the snow or just skimming it and then slowly roll the machine back down and the track chainsaws and tosses a bunch of snow up into the tunnel.

I have rarely needed a flap on the way back down at the end of the day usually only on the way up especially if it's icy and not many have been on the trail to soften it up yet.

I run the removable flap and the tow bumper. I had to retrofit the flap tabs where the flap mounts to sled as they would hit the tow bumper. Love the tow bumper as it’s probably the cheapest form of tunnel reinforcement. Works great and usually I gauge the ride from the truck...if there’s good snow, flap stays at the truck...frozen spring riding up the road, it stays on till I get up to the alpine.

Yess I think that's what he means. Chainsawing into the snow.

I'm a day late! I can also add, riding on single tracks that are moguled out, through heavy timber, and twisty turny, into various basins that are slow to get to tends to add a heat problem. Just the climbing into the basin can cause some heating issues. A great accessory and the evacuation of snow up in the higher elevations is definitely a help.

Didn't close the latches? Cants see any other way it would fall off.

They do break off though. lol That's why you have sold so many. I have bought 2 for same sled. Good ole BRP.... Can't buy the broken part, have to buy the whole thing.

Mine too. Breaks from stress.Would be nice to just buy the part riveted to the sled,rather than the full kit.Great idea, but doesn’t handle my use. Will repair again for this season.

Another gadget for Doo to sell IMO. No flap, stay on the pipe as best you can keep to keep snow flying and if need be auger it in on the side of the trail.. I've never had heat issues like i know others struggled w/, back to the 15 174"..
Flap vs no flap i didn't think it was a huge difference.. Whooped trail and slow speeds = hot sleds.. Best temp control is track speed...

Went through 2 last year,,, one hooked on a tree ( not its fault ) the other one I don't know what happened,,, have a buddy with a cnc machine building me an aluminum one

Yeah I also put 2 on the same sled. Not the parts fault. I backed into a tree doing the skandic manouver. I took it off now and just get her off trail when I can.

Absolutely love mine on my 175's! Just needed to make sure the Linq brackets are spaced correctly on the tunnel so its easy to store while enroute. I cut the middle bottom part of my snow flap off along the indent line so that when stored on my tunnel you could get a grip on the bumper when stuck without your fingers getting stuck between flap and bumper. Works great.
