Light weight hoods for XM ???

What do you guys think of not running a headlight with the aftermarket hood? Run a resistor? Anyone had a stator go after the headlight delete?

i think i have 6500, mayby 7500 worth of km and no working headlights. My handlebar warmers have been dead for 2 years. No problems here.
