Pretty simple really. When an entire portion of the country survives by sucking on the tit of the government, they will sell any semblance of what could be considered a soul to continue living that life.

i agree, but what are there alternatives, not alot of jobs down east. just like Alberta now.

what if conservatives offered some initiatives, maybe allow more fishing, less taxes for local processing ? got to be something.

The only alternative is much less government.

Think about it, over the years all parties have been slowly floating to the left. They offer help, people take it, people get used to it, the govt convinces people that they are a good thing, let govt handle it etc. What has the entire system of govt done for us? Cost us a **** ton in taxes and make us less able to take care of ourselves.

People need to be educated in the fact that we are better off without the govts help. They are not in our best interests as a whole.

A republic is the answer, a govt for the people, by the people.

How do we make this happen??? That is the question. Unify the people and plan a rebellion.

southern Ontario, sure not liking ford, i'm thinking they are not to fond of tru-d either outside of TO. this might be the best chance the conservatives will get! NDP and Green voters won't change much. i sure hope the conservatives find a way to sway voters in eastern Canada. guess i need to look up wexit and see what they propose.

All parties are owned by the same people. Unless we get a non politician like Donald to shake things up, we will stay in the same rut. Hugely overtaxed, and instead of spending it on infrastructure where it's needed, they keep giving it away ( with kick backs of course to line their own pockets).

We need to encourage the greens and NDP to attack the liberals. The die is cast for the left vs right voting blocks. Easterners in the urban areas and the lower mainland will largely never vote conservative. The conservatives need to highlight the liberals incompetence, corruption and mistakes in such a way that it drives liberal voters to vote green or NDP. splitting the left wing votes is the only way for the conservatives to gain power.

I don't know what the right answer is. There are a lot of people on the east coast that want to work, but a lot of people are forced to take union work, where there are no incentives to produce quality work in an efficient manner, in fact in seems those that are most inefficient with lack-luster workmanship are favored, to drag the jobs out longer. So these people continue to vote in a government that allows budget overruns on government contracts, or governments that pay a living wage for holding down the couch as a means of survival.

Canadians governments as a whole are reactive, not active in seeking out opportunity. We missed the boat on LNG, pipelines to every direction, manufacturing has left, forestry and O&G are being regulated to death. Currently there are opportunities in emerging technologies that could help Canadians for decades, but most require buy in from governments of some sort, as usual we will miss out on these.

yes i agree, ford in ontario started out like he was going to do something, almost seemed like overnight he changed his direction. The large urban centers have loads of people who want handouts and lots of them. eastern provinces have survived so long on handouts, it is impossible to live on anything else. like welfare once people get on it, they are there forever. we need a shake up.

that would work although the conservatives likely wouldn't get anymore votes. still might work!

All other parties have adopted the policy of ABC, anything but conservatives. It is highly likely that in the case of Conservatives polling higher, the Greens and NDP will push their voters to vote Liberal to keep the ABC policy alive.

Fraudulent voting, the govt will own it all. Kinda sounds like communism to me.

For those that dont know, communism is bad....real bad.

In most of the provinces east of Saskatchewan, some of the largest employers are governments of various levels. Voting conservative there is unlikely as most conservatives are for reducing the size of government, which would cost the jobs of too many voters. Big government and high taxes are acceptable to them as long as they keep their government jobs, productive or not....
And as for these emerging technologies that require “buy in” from government.....it’s more of the same...tax dollars supporting unsustainable industry for decades...

pretty much explains the way Edmonton voters acted in last election! NDP loves government employees.

I agree, rempel would be excellent, but it doesn’t matter who the conservative leader is, the liberal party will instruct the media to portray him/her in the worst possible light, deliberately misquote and censor them and demonize and destroy them. There’s too much government money supporting the mainstream media for them to refuse.
