JB - What lake do you hang out at?

I live in Chestermere, so I usualy just stay there, My house is a five minute walk from the lake, and its free for locals, so we go out after Dinner and ride until dark. The boat drinks enough fuel and I travel enough in the winter sleding every weekend. But I am always up for a roadie once and a while!

where do you run yours?
if you are ever in Calgary come on over!

This is the old girl. 1993 Brendella Barefooter with 200 XRi. Sweet little boat - did a lot of training behind her. Couldn't stand to sell her so she has been retired to our place out in Vernon. Handy so I don't have to trailer a boat over the mtns.

Dare Ya should see some time footing behind her this summer

Here is a pic of the new girl - 2008 Sanger DLX Barefooter. This is buddy's boat from Texas - but mine is on a trailer coming up from Sacramento right now. Only difference is mine has a blue wave on it instead of the black, and I went with the aluminum tower instead of the orange andonized.

This is my first brand new boat - I have always bought used before - and I am so excited. Open bow, all the toys, and best of all a 420hp, 8.1l big block in this beatch, Should be good for 51mph up here. My feet are just itching to get on the water!!

Oh ya - I know this is going to be a hit after my XRi. It just sipped fuel. Only good thing is that the 8.1 just loafs along - it actually gets better milage than the 5.7 and 6.2l engines at 44-42 mph. Full throttle - all bets are off

I'm in a slightly different place with the boating world.
I have a 1979 Cobra SS and am slowly refinishing it.
My wife is currently recovering the seats and I've taken on a major project of Power Polishing the boat. It was extremely oxidized and will never look perfect but it's a lot better than it was (all the water marks were removed).
Once that is completed we are dong some more work to the interior.

Photo #1 - Cobra in the water
Photo #2 - Before the 8 hours of oxidization removal with power polisher
Photo #3 - After polishing, windshield removed to polish dash and gauges.

In photo three the sunlight and trees are reflecting in the paint. I figure I've got about 30 more hours work on the polishing part.

Sledbunny:

Boy - do I remember those old Cobras - especially with the straight 6 Merc's! We must have put a 1,000hrs on our old one - between skiing, fishing and barefooting at Wizard and Pigeon. Sure could have used a sundeck for the babes though! And about 200lbs of weight in the nose - boy could you get some bowrise out of them lugging a skier out of the water!

Those straight 6's sure taught me how to rebuild a motor though - went through three. My Dad's buddy was an OMC mechanic, and we spent one winter in his shop rebuilding that old motor with him supervising. The first rebuild lasted about three hours (we had the crank welded - never do that again). The second went wayyy quicker! Plus we had to get it ready because it was ski season.

We put it up for sale after the third rebuild. Ended up catching fire at the dealer we had it consigned with - ended up getting more from insurance than the boat was realistically worth! After that - it was on to the tournament boats. Did that old Cobra come with a Shorelander trailer? Boy - they sold a lot of those back in the 70's and 80's.

Doesn't really matter what the boat looks like - just that it gets you wet!!
