As a career driver, I thank you for your due diligence. Fk everyone else that uses LED pods and thinks they are fog lights. Right up there with people that put HID or LED bulbs in their incandescent housings.Do you want SAE fog lights that are legal, have a good upper cutoff, and won't blind everyone? Because as teeroy said, everything suggested above will perform like a flood light.
SAE J583 F3 and ECE R19 are the specs a legal fog lamp needs to be legal and safe for other drivers,
Now I don't really care about legal, but fog lights are useless if you have to turn them off for oncoming traffic.
Morimoto offers SAE lenses for their 4 banger fog lights and XB fog lights (both come in many vehicle specific fit fit kits) I have an array of the smaller 2 banger sae fogs and I love them, due to the SAE cutoff you can leave them on all day and night and not get flashed for blinding people. Pattern cuts off sharply at the top, treeline to treeline width and they are nice and bright.
Another option is Baja Design's Squadron SAE (no experience with this unit but BD is always amazing)
Rigid does offer some SAE fogs, but I have no real knowledge on them.
Yes I just spent a chunk of time recently researching lighting as I upgraded my new to me truck's lighting
I have mine pointed way down. I've checked them and they aren't bad for oncoming traffic. I'll do the same with these yellow ones. No good if both of us are blinded by the lightAs a career driver, I thank you for your due diligence. Fk everyone else that uses LED pods and thinks they are fog lights.
